Turns out there's a part of the cool investigations department that's mostly just research, like reading local lore and stuff to see if it has anything to do with the weird stuff going on. I started doing that a little, and helping out with Staff Development. That's the department in charge of teaching the employees Stuff. Not that I have anything to teach them, I mostly just file papers and staple things to other things, but I get to sit in on some of the classes.

Not really sure if I'm learning anything or not yet, I'll get back to you on that.

as you can probably tell, our plan for me to sit in as the blueprint guy for heists isn't providing regular work

Sucks about the blueprint thing, it sounded totally awesome in my head.

I sat in on this one class about learning an alien language, but the only thing I remembered after that was a crazy migraine and something that looked like a crooked number 8. There was this one wilderness survival class, I theoretically know how to build a campfire. I haven't actually tested that one yet. Seemed like a bad idea, what with the repeatedly dying for the last few weeks. It's basically just asking to burn the building down.

Research is nice, if you like reading up on everyday eldritch horror and human suffering. And aren't like, super squeamish.

Some parts of it are boring, but it's quiet, you can basically pick your own hours so long as you get the job done, and there's a coffee machine nearby, so it's got perks.

what do you like doing? because research sounds boring no matter how you swing it but its actually about finding old forgotten books about trains disappearing and trying to figure out if it involves ghosts. seems like a lot of the time there is ghosts so far.

i can do other things in my spare time and catch a movie or two during my shift.
