Greetings, fellow children of the apocalypse and working stiffs.
[Eddie waggles his fingers at the screen. There's a dopey, easy grin on his face, but the bags under his eyes tell a different story.]
Say a guy misses curfew- by three minutes- and gets locked outta the apartments. What's the best place to hole up for a night? Hypothetically.
[He's starting to think this ADI housing deal was the wrong choice. It feels so weird, not being able to come and go as he pleases. Stifling.
That's almost it, until Eddie clicks his fingers and rocks back towards the camera-]
Oh, and purely in the interest of my long term sanity, if anybody here plays DnD, I'm taking party applications. So. Show me what you've got.

There are a few empty buildings that are safe and at least one place that accommodates people who have no where to sleep regularly, but you might need to ingratiate yourself to the proprietor first. Apparently it is unwise to sleep in the park, so I would not recommend it.
...what is 'dee in dee?'

What is- what is DnD? Do you have a few hours? Minimum. Or a basic understanding of table-top games?

It's just, this place, man- it's way nicer than anywhere I've lived before.

I'm not saying you should make a habit of using the infirmary as a nap room, but a few of the nurses might take pity on you the next time you're stranded.

Time to be worried in the most on-brand possible method. ]
Chrissake, Munson, can you not start recruiting for your nerd shit until you follow someone's advice and get indoors? It's probably not safe out there!
omg hiiii <3
I'm capable of multi-tasking! Besides, you telling me you don't trust the fine, upstanding security around here? I know-
[how to take care of myself, is what he almost says, but it doesn't make it all the way out. Eddie's not sure he's allowed to claim that, anymore.]

There are break rooms at ADI that are passable for a couple of hours of sleep and some coffee. I've had to use them a few times myself and it's not ideal, but it's clean, dry, and safe.
Avoid the park, Dogtown, and the graveyard. The police and ADI security are enforcing no trespassing laws, and for good reason. It's not safe.
no subject
right, ok, so no park, and none of the creepy places i already wanted to avoid. i mean. dogtown? sounds like some stephen king shit.
thanks for the ADI tip. ever woken up to one of them poking around at your brain?

Uh huh. You don't think that's gonna end up with fingers pointed at the only guy who broke curfew?

[There's a mischievous smirk playing about the young woman's lips as she replies.]
What's... Deendee? Ain't never heard of that.

[Eddie uses his arms to form a big old X, shaking his head for emphasis.]
Uhhhh, it's a game. About magic, and monsters, and a whole lot of stuff that I thought wasn't real until recently? The more I explain it to people the more I'm kind of finding it hard to explain. It's fun, though. If you like storytelling. Or acting. Or dragons.

There is shelter place in town. They give safe place to people without room or house.
I do not know this... dee uhn dee. What party do you plan and tell us to give you an application?
[ Humans continue to surprise her with their strange customs. ]

[Eddie grimaces; at this point Katrina is just the next in a long line of people who apparently haven't even heard of the game, and might not even be from a place where it was invented.]
It's not a party, you're- forget about it. Doesn't matter. Hey, you're my other roommate, right? You know, when I'm not locked out. I'm Eddie.

Don't let the icon lie to you though: at the moment she's a dim reddish purple, not blue. She's trying out this whole concept of maybe putting off less blue light when it's time for everyone to go to sleep. Maybe then, sleeping will actually happen.)
I see everyone else has already given you their recommendations. Personally, I'd go to the flophouse.
DnD? Really? Aren't we already living in a fantasy world?
no subject
But it's not fucking cool to just stare, and Eddie's seen a bunch of other weird shit by now, so he blinks the stupid out of his face and tries to be casual about this.]
Just uh, just my luck, huh? Someone who actually knows what DnD is, and they've got zero interest. Anyway. You're wrong! There's a difference between this and a fantasy world.

Eat me? Jesus christ, I was kidding about the Stephen King shit. What stuff? You can't just say that and not give me details! If I don't have details, I'm gonna sit here picturing something worse and worse.

[Beau, no. Anyway.]
Also, what kind of party are you talking about. If it's like, a strength thing, I can probably lift you, but it'd be more fun if I did something else. What do you need it for anyway?
HERE SHE IS
[Eddie's tone isn't exactly dripping sincerity, but he lets it go with an eyeroll.]
No strength needed. I mean, not traditionally. I'm talking about a game, but apparently every person in this place is severely uncultured. Including you! So. Wanna change that?
THEY!!!!
obsessed already
me too they suck
both just awful awful gremlins
terrible little turbonerds

At this rate, he's gonna end up with a party of folks who, back home, would look like a very dedicated group of cosplayers.]
Uhh- yeah. It's a table-top roleplay game. Lots of monster slaying, mystery solving, character building. All that good stuff. You interested?
