[Eddie waggles his fingers at the screen. There's a dopey, easy grin on his face, but the bags under his eyes tell a different story.]

Say a guy misses curfew- by three minutes- and gets locked outta the apartments. What's the best place to hole up for a night? Hypothetically.

[He's starting to think this ADI housing deal was the wrong choice. It feels so weird, not being able to come and go as he pleases. Stifling.

That's almost it, until Eddie clicks his fingers and rocks back towards the camera-]

Oh, and purely in the interest of my long term sanity, if anybody here plays DnD, I'm taking party applications. So. Show me what you've got.

[There's a mischievous smirk playing about the young woman's lips as she replies.]

What's... Deendee? Ain't never heard of that.

Look, I love a classic 'step inside the haunted graveyard' dare as much as the next guy, but there's not a chance I'm going in there. Alone? At night? I'll pass.

[Eddie uses his arms to form a big old X, shaking his head for emphasis.]

Uhhhh, it's a game. About magic, and monsters, and a whole lot of stuff that I thought wasn't real until recently? The more I explain it to people the more I'm kind of finding it hard to explain. It's fun, though. If you like storytelling. Or acting. Or dragons.

Grew up digging graves and seeing to the bodies that go in 'em. I found more to fear among the living than them sleeping below.

I like storytelling, though. Ain't much of an actor... and dragons. Well those is scary.

Oh, so I'm the Daphne in this scenario, huh?

[Eddie grins, and finds he's happy to meet someone taking this post a little less seriously.]

Jesus. Uhhhh. Sounds intense. You never saw a single zombie, then? No undead, just regular old dead?

Alllllllso, you never know. Sometimes, if you have a good story to tell- even just the story of whatever character you're playing- the acting comes easier.

Just a whole lotta regular, respectable dead folks staying in their graves. If they was undead, they were right polite about staying put and no making a sound. My family manages the Evergreen Abbey graveyard. It's just part of our work. Don't think it was real intense outside of one year when the bodies was piling too high on account of the murders. It was during the winter and the ground was frozen solid. We had to rest 'em in a big snowbank and wait for the spring thaw.

So, how do you figure out what your character's story is, though. Just making things up, like playing pirates?

[Wow. So. That's a lot. Eddie doesn't hide his shiver at the imagery.]

Okay. New nightmare material. Cool.

[He shakes his head and does his best to focus on her question instead.]

Right, yeah- sort of? There's some guides if you need help, and I was thinking I could help new players come up with ideas. But a lot of it is definitely making up your own stuff.

And it's all playing pretend with grown-ups? No little ones involved?

[She's not against it, she's just surprised by the concept, really.]

Nahhh, kids totally play it too. I mean, you know. No toddlers. I'm not running a daycare. And no one who's gonna have nightmares about shit.

Are you telling stories that's scary enough for nightmares?

[From what she remembers, Crys' play usually involved swashbuckling and daring-do without much horror. No, the horror had come later for all of them.]
