How many pizza places are there actually around here?

My friend and I are looking for you know, good pizza.

So far we've found okay pizza.

I'd ask about people's preferences, but, I feel like even here that's kinda divisive? Cause everyone likes super different things on pizza, and I'm kinda willing to try most things. Depends sometimes.

At this point, I'm game for anything tbh. As long as I can go in, grab and we can go after.

There's Amano, about a block west of the library. They have a take-out counter, and some decent seating if you decide you want to stay out of the weather.

Okay, Amano sounds like it'd be good actually. We'd probably do takeout. Last time Leo and I went somewhere we ran into that horse. It was a mild disaster.

Yeah see, lotsa places here seem to be damn bland or overpriced for what they got, but we been keepin' an eye open round town and found a nice little dig few blocks off the docks. Kinda cramped but not busy or nothin' just a blink-and-you'll miss it kinda shindig.

Got pretty good options too if you're feelin' a specific itch, no promises they ain't gonna judge youse for it though. Called Slice Guy, it ain't half bad compared to everywhere else.

Okay, Slice Guy definitely sounds good. Leo and I were trying to just find more options. Sounds close enough to New York to be kinda worth it.

I mean there's no bad pizza
It's pizza
Flat bread, sauce, cheese and then whatever makes your tongue happy

But now I'm curious: depends on what?

Have you not had absolutely bad pizza before? Not even toppings wise, like place wise. Some places overcook a pizza or undercook it. I've had absolutely awful pizza before and not even a good sauce or topping could save it.

I'm kinda iffy on certain toppings. Jalapenos are classic for some people, but don't really do anything for me, or anchovies. Its just kinda there.

Undercooked is pretty bad, though, I'll give you that

Anchovies are pretty salty and then if there's salt in the bread and the sauce, then it just gets to be too much.
I don't think I've tried jalepenos on pizza before, I'm not usually into setting my face on fire.
But I get it, that's how I feel about 'four cheese' like after a while it's all just cheese

I knew it was pizza since I ordered pizza. Then I got not good pizza, like abomination pizza. There is no recovery for undercooked pizza, not even a lot of marinara can save that.

I've tried jalapenos before, it kinda didn't do much for me. Too afraid to do anchovies. Agreed on four cheese. People talk about how four cheese is like... a flavor journey, but if you melt all of it together it's just greasy cheese. Cheese lump of death essentially.

I completely understand that. Without the right equipment, it's hard to make a good pizza at home.

Maybe after I adjust to being here I can try it? I'd have to do a lot of googling though before hand.

Just this isn't really home for me, so it all feels weird.

There's a cafe that's good in town, about ten minutes' walk from here. The coffee shop does a decent soup too. Have been to the coffee shop down the street?

I don't think anything is going to hit New York levels here. Like... something that tastes good at least? A good texture.

That's true. It is Massachusetts.

I haven't tried a lot of pizza around here, but I know some people who probably have. I'll see if they have opinions.
