How many pizza places are there actually around here?

My friend and I are looking for you know, good pizza.

So far we've found okay pizza.

I'd ask about people's preferences, but, I feel like even here that's kinda divisive? Cause everyone likes super different things on pizza, and I'm kinda willing to try most things. Depends sometimes.

[Peter's level of burning food is much less lower than May's, but teenage boy will teenage boy.]

Yeah, its what May says, then she'll burn her special vegan casserole and we end up getting pizza instead. You never know what happens.

I think that'd be fun. I can promise I'll probably take notes.

Vegan? You're a vegan? I mean there are a few things I can teach you but not as many. You can make pasta without eggs but it's not as good. I just have no experience with veganism.

Notes are good. I appreciate it when students pay attention.

Oh no, I'm not vegan. My aunt just went through this period of time where she was trying to be vegan, and I'm cool to eat whatever so I was happy to try what she made. We were kosher like a zillion years ago, but now I don't really adhere to it anymore.

I'll eat whatever essentially is what I'm getting at. No restrictions here.

I know cooking is not as strict as baking, but having it written down seems like it would help.

So no allergies then, that's good. I mean I know you said you have no restrictions but is there anything that you just don't like?

Baking is a science. I'll make you a recipe to keep for yourself.

Any time is good with me. I don't really have a lot going on right now.

How about this weekend? Mid-afternoon?

This weekend sounds good! Are you on ADI campus or off-? I think people can live off campus anyway.

[bossyboiler]

I'm in apartment C2. People can live where they want but given the cost of rent in this city, our paychecks don't go far enough.

[heyunderoos]

C2, got it.

I was googling places online and kind realized that too. Our paychecks don't really cover a lot. Seems kind of unfair since we didn't ask to be here, you know?

I think it's so that ADI can keep us close and dependent upon them.

[heyunderoos]

[The more people Peter talk to, the more obvious it is becoming no one really trusts the ADI completely. It makes the teenager feel likes foolish for being wary.]

Okay, yeah, that sounds about right. They need us in a larger way than a lot of us need them.

They do need us. We're expendable to them. We'd be easy enough to disappear.

[ Kate surprises herself with her choice of words. She would say that she hangs around with Yelena Belova too much but that's a lie. She can never hang out with her bestie too much. ]

[Peter wasn't particularly enamored with the ADI, but hearing someone plainly say that is more than a little jarring. A reminder to not get comfortable.]

oh, that's good to know at least. Good to keep in mind.

I'm sorry. That sounded way more paranoid than I usually am.

[ And she's not a paranoid person by nature but she's seen and heard things. ]

No, its okay. Its probably good to at least be a little suspicious of this kind of place and set up.

You're right but I try not to go overboard on the paranoia. I don't want to come across like that.

It was a little startling to be fair, but, you aren't the only one I've talked to whose been kind of iffy about the ADI.

[bossyboiler]

I don't remember having come across someone who does trust them implicitly.

[heyunderoos]

Being dropped into a new place with this much going on kind of sours things by a lot tbh.

[bossyboiler]

It does. Especially with the things they keep from us.

[ Like what's in their basement? ]

But I think I've given you enough to worry about.
