For now, anyway. He, like Yelena, has been kind of quietly packing things up.

"You okay," he asks, though the flat tone doesn't make it sound like a question. Ever since the artifact that fucked up his fingers and the star on his left shoulder, getting tone into his voice has been harder.

Kate is sitting on the sofa. When she sees Winter's head peak around the corner, she smiles back at him and offers a slight wave in return. She's glad that he made it back from Wolf Pen and is so far still here. How long will he remain is the question.

It's awful isn't it? People vanishing and no way of knowing what's happened to them or whether they're alright.

All three of my roommates have vanished since I've been here.

It is awful. I hope that those who have vanished have gone back to their own world but we have no way of knowing. If we knew they were dead, at least we could properly mourn them but we don't even have that.
