Johnny Summer reporting and never left, but I've been busy as a bee in Spring regardless. Did you go with the others or stick around here?

[ She notices the dirt and band-aids but isn't so rude as the point them out. ]

I went with the others, yes. Did you stay behind?

I don't believe we have, not officially. Though, I've heard you've been here a while. It's a pleasure, Kate.

And, yes, I did. Someone's got to hold down the fort and make sure there's a round of drinks ready when the soldiers roll home. I trust everything is going as alright as possible over there?

That's a loaded question. I suppose that everything went off as well as can be expected.

That's...quite a while, yes. [More than he wanted to hear, but maybe that was wishful thinking borne of his two roommates seeming to have vanished.]

As long as all hands made it back, I should think that would count as a success!

Yeah. And sometimes it feels every minute of it, other times I wonder where the time has gone.

I don't believe we lost anyone in Wolf's Pen.

Well, when you get back in, I happen to have my new lounge just about up and running: Lavender Jack. Come in and take a breath of fresh air and I'd be happy to hear your stories. Someone who's been here so long must have plenty.
