Who: Delloso de la Rue

[With how much Rue's come to use their smartphone over the last five or so months, they feel like quite the pro as they begin this video message across the network, their feathery countenance perfectly in frame and prettily lit from a nearby window.]
Now that my beloved and I have finally picked a date, I find that our wedding is fast approaching. I must confess, I was originally quite set on our ceremony being a delightful mix of both goblin and faerie ritual, but I've come to find some human practices absolutely fascinating!
Tell me, do you have any particular wedding traditions from your homeland that stand out as unique?

Music is indeed something I'm still considering! There's just so much of it to choose from, I hardly know where to begin! Though my dear Malcolm has informed me of a tradition called the chicken dance, which seems to be quite the popular song and dance for wedding receptions. Are you familiar with it?
Your enthusiasm is a delight as always! I'm afraid that goblin traditions are anything but, though please don't tell my betrothed as much. It's the goblin piece that I am finding most difficult to incorporate smoothly. So many of their traditions involve eating live animals or mud wrestling, I hardly know what to include.

weddings are the perfect time for stuff like that. OH!! you can do the cha cha slide too!
whoa... goblins sound hardcore. do they have pinyatas where your from?
[ Yes, Jeff's going to suggest a wedding pinata to fulfill goblin tradition. It.... seems like it might work??? ]

Oh yes, we do. Though I do believe most goblin celebrations refrain from using an actual piΓ±ata and prefer to string up another goblin to beat instead.
[Does Rue sound exhausted? They are exhausted.]
I fear I am close to giving up completely. It's true that Hob has left behind all association with his former court and has adamantly insisted I do not need to include any of their brutish traditions, but it is still such an integral piece of his life. And I so want to include something of him in the celebration too. It can't only be me.

[ ok ok let's see... think like a goblin, jeff... ]
yeah i get that. its like whats the point of a wedding if its only celebrating one of you
what about a water balloon fight to end the night!!!! that way your throwing things at people and making a mess but its not hurting anyone

That's a very creative answer but perhaps not something I necessarily would enjoy for my wedding day.
[Look, if even one person tried to throw a water balloon at them in their dress, the whole city would be leveled.]
It's a struggle though, isn't it! But I'm determined to dig through every single goblin tradition and find something that will fit. They can't all be about maiming and eating one another. Right?
