It's not a serial killer. That would be a sensible explanation. Dogtown is less about sensible explanations, and more about being a testing ground for nightmares.

Don't handle the teeth for too long. They seem to be...contagious might be the best word. If your mouth starts bleeding, leave.

Sometimes. But if I'm being fair, that was them trying to find a way to counteract an ongoing attack.

What I meant is that in Dogtown, there's regularly something new and horrible. Mostly it doesn't spread outside of Dogtown, and by the time the next new horrible thing starts showing up, the last one is either gone or less prominent. It's never safe, but it's remarkably contained.

Probably because nobody wants to tell them and be responsible for the body count. Both here and from what will happen once they decide to weaponize monsters that feed on fear.

No.

We had SHIELD, where I'm from. And the Avengers. Other people probably had other groups on their worlds, if they had magic and aliens.

Here, I think ADI is the specialized group. If there is anyone else, they are better at keeping hidden.

[Maybe this is the American version of Torchwood. She's not sure. She never did hear much about them. The Doctor had just mentioned them in passing.]

People are telling me teeth aren't the weirdest thing they've seen here.

You know, I don't like there's that distinction.

In Dogtown, the weirdest was the boars with human arms on their bellies.

Here, the weirdest was the moving dolls. Not the worst, that was the nightmares about constantly dying, but the weirdest.

People have nightmares all the time.
And if you're seeing those boar things, I'm not surprised.

Not like this.

This was people falling asleep for days at a time, stuck in a constant loop of nightmares. And people's nightmares tangling together, until at the end half of ADI was having the same one.

Not one that anyone could find. The source was a little girl. Or made itself look like a little girl.

That doesn't mean there absolutely wasn't technology involved, though.

Yes. She seemed to know exactly what she was doing. She wasn't spreading nightmares without meaning to.

That's really messed up.
But... even then.
If she was really just a little girl, she still might not have understood what she was doing.
Kids aren't stupid, but something like that?
They wouldn't do that without someone terrible telling them to.

Oh, she was definitely sent. Even if she was actually something pretending to be a little girl because that's more unsettling than an evil adult, she was definitely sent.

But that doesn't mean she is innocent. It just means ADI has enemies.

Do we know anything about who she was sent by?

[Because that's a person Donna would very much like to clock. Several times.]

If that means anything to anyone, they haven't shared it with the rest of the class.
