[ network ] turkey testicles
Who: Takashi Shirogane
Username: Blam
Warnings: Talk of consuming animal parts ( turkey testicles )
[ so, about those turkey testicle festival fliers popping up… he should be embarrassed that this is his first contribution to the adi network, but, well, curiosity? ]
Has anyone else seen the ads for the event happening at the Bottoms Up bar this weekend? Better yet, is anyone going?
I didn’t realize turkey testicles were a thing across the country. Arizona had a big annual event when I lived there.
[ which doesn’t necessarily mean current arizona dabbles in the double-t festival. ugh. timelines. alternate realities. his brain is complaining. ]
People back home took it pretty seriously.
Anyway. All of this to say: is anyone braving a taste?
I promise they aren’t terrible.
[ ringing endorsement. ]
( ooc; keith will be posting a log for this…soon right here. )

Yes?
Pretty sure it’s part of the initiation process. You know, you’re not a true Arizonian until you’ve gobbled the gobbler’s balls.

i'd believe that about fried rattler
turkey bits just sounds like you got hazed by folks at the garrison
they could have at least taken you out for turkey nuggets instead.
my dad used to take me when i was a kid.
1/2
First off, the Garrison banned all manners of hazing.
Second, no one would have dared haze the likes of me.
Third, the nonexistent hazing would have involved coyotes, not turkeys.
done.
one last text. just know shiro is squinting. ]
Turkey nuggets.
Where did he take you to get them?
Re: done.
[ that at least sounds like it has more to do with desert life than turkey balls in particular?? maybe. ]
and i don't remember the name of the place?
it was some place out in the middle of nowhere and we had to take doom out there
it was nice. they only had turkey nuggets once a year as a special thanksgiving thing

Keith.
What do you think turkey nuggets are?

uh...
whatever chicken nuggets are made out of?

why are you asking anyway?
that's a weird thing to be implying
done
would his dad trick him into eating turkey nuggets?
....
............ ]
THAT WAS A RHETORICAL QUESTION.

Seems like you already know.
You sure you don’t wanna check out this festival?

[ listen. spare him this one headache of having to question yet another childhood memory?? ]
how badly do you want to go?
1/2
It sounds fun? I want to see how Massachusetts compares to Arizona. Who fries the gobbler's balls better?
[ his money is on arizona.
he doesn't know if that's something any state wants bragging rights to though. ]
And.
I want you to come with me badly enough that I promise I won’t harass you into trying any turkey testicles.
done.

shiro is forever oblivious. and happy. score. he has a fellow ball attendee. ]
Excellent.
So we’ll walk over together, listen to the band and then you can cheer me on in the eating contest, seeing as you won’t be partaking in the balls.
[ does this count as friend date number… what number are they on? ]

ok
[ then half a minute later: ]
i might try one.
[ you know. to settle the question of turkey nuggets vs turkey balls once and for all. it's science. ]
