log;
Who: Katrina and you!
When: Sept 13-15
Where: ADI HQ, ADI apartments, the memorial room, wildcard
Summary: Katrina makes rounds to assess the state of her Gloucester home base
Warnings: past character death; will edit as needed
• HQ
[ Who's that short-ish young woman walking around the non-restricted parts of HQ, looking at everything like it's hers and she's willing to fight about it? It's Katrina, the angriest mermaid, who has been informed she's been gone for almost a year and now needs to see for herself what's changed.
She ends up in the gym and decides to stay there, training much like she used to. She'll also watch others train, and if there's any advice she can give anyone, she'll go up to them and give it in her usual serious tone. ]
• apartments
[ More wandering and inspecting. Now and then she'll climb a tall tree, the better to see from.
And then there's when she scales the building by way of apartment balconies, making sure it looks like something a strong, athletic human can do. Totally normal! She just wants to get up to the roof. ]
• memorial room
[ She's here to see if the people she remembers are still here, or at least not dead. When she does find someone she knew, she makes the signs to honor them the way she would for her fellows beneath the waves, and sings a short song of mourning for them. Katrina will not respond while she is singing, but she'll be conversational (for her) after. ]

You are, [he confirms.] Have you been back long? Are you all right? Do you know what happened?
[She can clearly choose to answer all, some, or none of these questions.]
no subject
[ She remembers everything she went through here as if no time at all had passed. ]
This is... strange. They say I disappear many tides ago, but I do not feel this.

[And he knows what it's like to be missing time. Not a great feeling, at all, no matter how much or how little.]
I'm glad you don't feel different, though. [It's certainly better than the alternative.]
A lot has happened, especially with regard to ADI. Has anyone told you about the change in leadership?
no subject
[ They told her enough, but Katrina still wants to hear it from the people she trusts. ]

Nia Lehrer is in charge. But now we - and she - know she's an avatar of the Hunt. She's also allowing the use of entity-fueled powers, as long as they're, you know. Used to fight "bad people."
A few of us haven't liked the way things were handled for a long time, and the way it's become clear that ADI isn't always sure what's going on within its own ranks... I don't work for ADI anymore.

Avatar is leader of ADI? [ Katrina hisses, the sound catlike and sharp. ] Then ADI is not doing mission it say. Is ADI enemy now?
[ And if so, would it be foolish to try and destroy things in HQ to hinder them? ]
no subject
Those things are still bad. Still dangerous. I think you have to decide for yourself if letting an Avatar stay in charge makes them good or bad - or an enemy or not.
But if you want to walk away - some of us have. We can help you. If you want help. Support.

[ Rash decisions back home almost got her killed. Working with her then-enemy saved her tribe's territory. Katrina can't afford to make mistakes here, where existence itself is at stake. ]
If I go-- leave ADI, I will go find you.

[He wants her to leave, but he also respects that it's her decision. And that she should make an informed one.
And he's mollified that she'll come find him if she needs him.]
Good. I can leave you our address, if you want.

I just want to make sure my people are taken care of.
[He pulls out a little notebook from one pocket, along with a stub of pencil, and writes out an address for her. A few seconds more, and he's drawn a very rough map between the ADI campus and the general area of the house. He hands it over.] Here.
