Congratulations, you've made it to the Good Harbor Beach September barbecue! With the weather cooling, but still pleasant enough, it's a pleasure to have a hangout involving ADI's residents and those who live at Bonnie's. There are still so many people who don't know one another, and many to strengthen bonds with, so the hours your dearest Wanda and Ren spend cooking and flipping and seasoning are nothing but rewarding! Seeing people enjoying themselves is great and it's motivating for them to keep doing these encounters every now and then.
On the menu, we have:
- Burgers;
- Steaks with jacked potato sides;
- Ribs;
- Zucchini-and-Pecorino fritters;
- Several different salads, including ovcharska;
- Aubergine kebabs with charred onion salsa;
- Salmon yakitori;
- Takoyaki;
- Cupcakes
- Apples and honey;
- Cherry dumplings;
- Sarmale filled with rice;
- Bundevara (pumpkin pie);
For drinks, there's a selection of alcohol, as well as coffee, water, tea, and a variety of sodas. Take in the nice view, jump on the ocean, sink your toes in the sand and enjoy yourselves. There aren't any usable tables, but there are several blankets on the floor for your perusal.

With bellies full, now it's when the real fun begins. There are a few decks of cards being passed around, as well as one of their single tables now organized to a beer-pong competition. Individually, games such as Never Have I Ever, as well as Truth or Dare can be seen, and those who wish to use their skills for entertaining are more than welcome to do so.
A little bonding here, a little drunken chatting there, this is your time to shine!

With those who have a curfew to worry about in mind, a bonfire is lit, and a few tents are set around the beach (may have to be shared). If anyone's got a nice story, now it's the time to share it, or perhaps if anyone can play an instrument, it's about time to break it out of its case. The night will be lively until the early hours of the morning, and of course, mindful of those who couldn't stay up this late.
The next morning, everyone will be properly thanked for their attendance and tupperwares will be distributed with leftovers for those who'd like to take some food home, the beach will be cleaned impeccably and everyone will go their own way, hopefully with smiles and a new sense of unity and connection from the amazing night they've just experienced.

III - threadjacking okay
"Okay. Okay. Okay." She smiles. "I dare you..." Pause. "To find Winter..." Another pause because what had she been about to say? Oh, that's right. "To find winter and ask his permission to give him a hug. A hig bug though, I mean no big hug." She sighs, frustrated with the fact that her tongue and mouth isn't cooperating. "I mean, bear squeeze. HUG! Bear hug! Yes." She applauds herself the victory of saying it correctly even though it hadn't been said correctly at all.
"Yes. Go find, Winter. Ask his permission to hug him and then give him the biggest bear hug ever." Kate laughs because it is the funniest thing she can think of. "You can do it." She reaches over to pat Yelena on the shoulder, misses and almost falls over, again.
The Narration takes back it's previous statement that Kate isn't drunk. She is.
Re: III - threadjacking okay
It's just that if she had been paying more attention, she wouldn't have put herself in this situation. Not after the open speculation about her past with Winter.
Fortunately, there is a convenient, if temporary, excuse to stall at hand. She reaches out to steady Kate when she nearly topples, and clicks her tongue mock-chidingly. "You are very drunk."

"It's okay. I know you two didin..." A pause. What is the matter with her mouth. Why won't it cooperate with her? "Did not. Didn't date. He corrected me. Shhh. It's okay. It's okay I don't know who else you know." Because Winter had been the first person she had thought of. They had him in common! It's not malicious.
"You don't have to do it." She pats Yelena on the shoulder again, this time she manages not to topple or miss. "I can think of something else." A pause because she suddenly has the feeling that Yelena doubts her, "Well, I can."

She swallows back something that feels caught between a laugh and a sigh, glancing towards where Winter prowls along the perimeter. She doesn’t have to search to find him, and with all explanatory context stripped, it’s not hard to see why someone whose familiarity with either of them is most easily measured in weeks might mistake that as a sign of intimacy.
“I will ask him if he would like a hug,” she says. “Remember your something else for the next round.”
And then she rises, and lopes towards the unsuspecting target of this piece of silliness.

"It seems. That Kate is very drunk," he comments, proving that while she had been aware of him, he has also been aware of her. And of Kate.

"Oh. I will." Kate's response is very earnest. "I have such a good one for the next round." She nods her head. Good is subjective. It is either the corniest thing Yelena has ever heard in her life while also being incredibly bland.
"Yes. You have to ask permission." She sounds like a child. "It's important." And then she laughs, "He's going to be so surprised."
She's not going to move from her seated position to get a better view. The Earth is spinning and she swears she can feel the rotation. Kate doesn't want to slip away.

“She is ridiculously drunk,” she agrees, glancing back over her shoulder at their roommate with an expression of mild concern. “I don’t think she has very much experience with it. I’ll bring her water when I return.”
She looks back at Winter, hesitates a moment, then sighs. “She is also thinking you might want a hug. Do you want a hug? Unless you do, you don’t have to answer.”

The question takes him by surprise. There's a nearly audible record scratch as it throws his thoughts off track. "What. Why would I want a. A hug." He can't even imagine that. The last time someone tried, he nearly threw the poor thing into a tree.

"You wouldn't," she says, turning her gaze back to Winter. "I think maybe Kate does, and is pushing that out onto you. And me. And the very silly game we are playing." She gives an apologetic shrug, the corners of her mouth quirking in a lopsided little smile. "I should get back to her before she has a chance to get herself into trouble."

She turns to head back towards Kate and the bonfire. Hopefully, the water she pauses to snag on the way back will not be required for dousing makeshift incendiaries.

He considers a beat as she turns, then moves to follow. He'd just about finished the latest patrol, anyway, and he wants to-- he should check on Kate. And see what this game is they're playing.

"I have marshmallows," she says and pointy sticks that could definitely put someone's eye out.
