Congratulations, you've made it to the Good Harbor Beach September barbecue! With the weather cooling, but still pleasant enough, it's a pleasure to have a hangout involving ADI's residents and those who live at Bonnie's. There are still so many people who don't know one another, and many to strengthen bonds with, so the hours your dearest Wanda and Ren spend cooking and flipping and seasoning are nothing but rewarding! Seeing people enjoying themselves is great and it's motivating for them to keep doing these encounters every now and then.

On the menu, we have:
- Burgers;
- Steaks with jacked potato sides;
- Ribs;
- Zucchini-and-Pecorino fritters;
- Several different salads, including ovcharska;
- Aubergine kebabs with charred onion salsa;
- Salmon yakitori;
- Takoyaki;
- Cupcakes
- Apples and honey;
- Cherry dumplings;
- Sarmale filled with rice;
- Bundevara (pumpkin pie);


For drinks, there's a selection of alcohol, as well as coffee, water, tea, and a variety of sodas. Take in the nice view, jump on the ocean, sink your toes in the sand and enjoy yourselves. There aren't any usable tables, but there are several blankets on the floor for your perusal.

ɪɪ. ᴛɪᴍᴇ ᴛᴏ ᴘᴀʀᴛʏ

With bellies full, now it's when the real fun begins. There are a few decks of cards being passed around, as well as one of their single tables now organized to a beer-pong competition. Individually, games such as Never Have I Ever, as well as Truth or Dare can be seen, and those who wish to use their skills for entertaining are more than welcome to do so.

A little bonding here, a little drunken chatting there, this is your time to shine!

ɪɪɪ. ᴀ ʙᴏɴꜰɪʀᴇ

With those who have a curfew to worry about in mind, a bonfire is lit, and a few tents are set around the beach (may have to be shared). If anyone's got a nice story, now it's the time to share it, or perhaps if anyone can play an instrument, it's about time to break it out of its case. The night will be lively until the early hours of the morning, and of course, mindful of those who couldn't stay up this late.

The next morning, everyone will be properly thanked for their attendance and tupperwares will be distributed with leftovers for those who'd like to take some food home, the beach will be cleaned impeccably and everyone will go their own way, hopefully with smiles and a new sense of unity and connection from the amazing night they've just experienced.

I'm not sure a rich girl from another nation would be a particularly good candidate for staging a class war. But we did blow up a bank. And I did help my sister kill the secret owner of said bank, who happened to be a dragon. [Though, Adaine for sure does not realise that Aelwyn shepparded her and her little friends along into discovering Kalvaxus.]

The actual diplomatic immunity thing stemmed from my father calling in a strike team to break me out of the police station that arrested me and instead put me in the custody of his government. Which seems like an extremely redundant reason to start a war, but whatever.

Mhm, makes sense - [ accompanied by a solemn nod ] - liberals are descended from lizards, and bankers would fit into that.

But just because you're rich doesn't mean you spark the class war that changes your society. If anything, you have more responsibility to do so! Much like I'm a cop who hates the police. Fuck us, really.

How inspiring. Hmm... well, I suppose I did disgrace and bankrupt my parents, and they're pretty big assholes. That's kind of a win.

If only I was still rich, I'd be starting a revolution as we speak.

Well... not always. Rich people start civil wars all the time. My friend wanted to replace the corrupt council with herself, and she was pretty rich. It just wasn't like, with the best interests of the poor or working class.

She did want to make it into a matriarchy, though, so kicking misogyny to the curb is some kind of social change. But honestly I think it was less about any political agenda she might have claimed and more about her own megalomania and mommy issues. [Rip to Penelope. At least she basically dropped the political spiel when she was around her.]

I don't know. Matriarchy is still a type of monarchy, and a terrifying woman in power is... beautiful in her terror. [ ahem- ] But let me tell you, the only thing monarchs love to do is snort copious amounts of cocaine and chill on their pile of gold.

[She sighs, almost dreamily, placing her chin in her hand.] No, no, I get you. She just wanted power really. She was so evil. It was really hot. [Whether she realises that part was said or not, it doesn't matter because she blinks.]

[ he glances down at his drink, debating. does he have faith in the law? a lot happened back home that supplied more questions than answers in regard to that, which isn't a great way to be for a man with no memory. in the end he takes his sip - he did have faith, when he first woke up to reality. now he's not so sure.

[They both are, really. It's becoming less of a game to relax and more a way to pry. There's fun to be found in that too, she finds.

But she'll smile and shake her head.] No, no. I'm hardly built for war, it'd ruin my complexion. Not to mention my hair. Can you imagine?

The war that started from that political scandal never actually saw armed conflict beyond the raid that started it all. [She'll rest her chin on her hand, humming in contemplation.]

Nope. Though I did come close, at least the one time I remember.

[ and in truth, he would have deserved it. he's just grateful to have been forgiven, for that and for the many others he can't remember anymore. ]

Okay, well now you're just cheating. [She mentioned starting a war which she thinks technically falls into the criteria of certain war crimes. Somewhat reluctantly she'll take a sip.]

[ LOGIC [Medium: Success] - That's *sort of* the point of this game. In very straight-forward terms. The greater point is to learn more about each other, not to "win".

Yeah this game kind of sucks. [ he finishes up his drink, only wishing he could be drunk right now even the slightest. ] It's the worst kind of game for an amnesiac too.

(Not awar criminal, but a criminal nonetheless, Ren was just passing by when he hears the last thing Aelwyn has said and he pauses for a second, like he's just heard something shocking, the sound of a record scratching being appropriate.

Boy, Ren and cops don't get along, fuck the police, etc. He's standing there for a second... Before he starts walking again...)

[ he gives his a lazy raise up in return, only regretting he doesn't have any seltzer left.

REACTION SPEED - Wait. Who was that watching you from the corner of your eye?

with that he turns his head past his shoulder, only seeing some kid walking away. he looks back at her. ]

Someone you know?

Huh. [She looks at him walking away. She cups her hands over her mouth and calls out.] Ren!

[And then she'll pat the spot next to her. Despite appearances she can actually detect the animosity, she just wants to get to the bottom of it. There's only one reason why a mean girl used to manipulating the ins and outs of social hierarchies plays Never Have I Ever after all.]

(Ah, crap. Listen, back home, he was either too ScArY to be engaged with when he eavesdropped, or outright ignored, unseen. So, he's mid-step when he hears the familiar voice.

Boy, he's very uncomfortable, but Aelwyn has nothing to do with it. Ren's not turning his back on her. So instead, he takes a deep breath, turns around, and sets a hand on her shoulder before crouching to her level.)

Did you need anything?

What's up? Having fun? I saw you stop.

[ ah so it was a kid. must be a friend of hers. harry keeps quiet, not wanting to get between them right now.

EMPATHY [Challenging: Success] - What's this strange vibe you're picking up from him? It's like he wants nothing to do with you.
AUTHORITY [Medium: Success] - Of course he doesn't. The *youths* rarely ever do. ]

(Strange vibe checks out. Ren's gaze is so piercing that even the frames that soften his features aren't rising up to the challenge.
