Summary: Here's the barbecue log! Eating, playing games, having a bonfire and sleep-over on the beach!

ɪ. ᴡᴇʟᴄᴏᴍᴇ

Congratulations, you've made it to the Good Harbor Beach September barbecue! With the weather cooling, but still pleasant enough, it's a pleasure to have a hangout involving ADI's residents and those who live at Bonnie's. There are still so many people who don't know one another, and many to strengthen bonds with, so the hours your dearest Wanda and Ren spend cooking and flipping and seasoning are nothing but rewarding! Seeing people enjoying themselves is great and it's motivating for them to keep doing these encounters every now and then.

On the menu, we have:
- Burgers;
- Steaks with jacked potato sides;
- Ribs;
- Zucchini-and-Pecorino fritters;
- Several different salads, including ovcharska;
- Aubergine kebabs with charred onion salsa;
- Salmon yakitori;
- Takoyaki;
- Cupcakes
- Apples and honey;
- Cherry dumplings;
- Sarmale filled with rice;
- Bundevara (pumpkin pie);


For drinks, there's a selection of alcohol, as well as coffee, water, tea, and a variety of sodas. Take in the nice view, jump on the ocean, sink your toes in the sand and enjoy yourselves. There aren't any usable tables, but there are several blankets on the floor for your perusal.

ɪɪ. ᴛɪᴍᴇ ᴛᴏ ᴘᴀʀᴛʏ

With bellies full, now it's when the real fun begins. There are a few decks of cards being passed around, as well as one of their single tables now organized to a beer-pong competition. Individually, games such as Never Have I Ever, as well as Truth or Dare can be seen, and those who wish to use their skills for entertaining are more than welcome to do so.

A little bonding here, a little drunken chatting there, this is your time to shine!

ɪɪɪ. ᴀ ʙᴏɴꜰɪʀᴇ

With those who have a curfew to worry about in mind, a bonfire is lit, and a few tents are set around the beach (may have to be shared). If anyone's got a nice story, now it's the time to share it, or perhaps if anyone can play an instrument, it's about time to break it out of its case. The night will be lively until the early hours of the morning, and of course, mindful of those who couldn't stay up this late.

The next morning, everyone will be properly thanked for their attendance and tupperwares will be distributed with leftovers for those who'd like to take some food home, the beach will be cleaned impeccably and everyone will go their own way, hopefully with smiles and a new sense of unity and connection from the amazing night they've just experienced.

Stumps or rocks on the beach, or even a nice dune. Either way, Meredith plops herself down without pretending to have any dignity. Why should she? It's Gojou, he's seen her let down her mask and just be before. She's safe with him.

"You doing alright?"

[120vision]

"Well, I had a wild experience at the circus."

Wait, should he tell her about that? Considering he hadn't gotten it from doing the best of things. Anyway, he plops himself down as well.

[henchgal]

"Mmm, what happened?"

She sets her cane down, settling in comfortably to listen. Storytime!

[120vision]

"I scared a bunch of people and then I found my powers worked again for awhile."

Well, that's a simple way to put it.

[henchgal]

"Huh. On the one hand, that's kind of concerning. On the other...that's interesting to learn. How did you scare them? And why?"

The tone of her voice isn't quite judgment yet, but...there's some concern there.

[120vision]

"I was talking shit about the fire guy and trying to make it come off scarier than it already was. It worked, I guess."

He's a little embarrassed to admit it. But on the other hand, if she's learned him well enough by now, she can probably predict he'd do that sort of thing.

[henchgal]

"Oh, so it didn't have anything to do with the funhouse. Okay, good. Shittalk Pyre all you want, that's fine."

She relaxes, as if that was an actual concern she'd had.

[120vision]

"The funhouse? I don't remember much about that. Other than getting really disoriented and then..."

He trails off.

"Never mind."

[henchgal]

"You're not the only one who had issues afterward. Hallucinations. A need to pursue. Word is Gil had it pretty bad, and I saw Jaeger, um, he really had trouble getting back to reality after."

She lightly touches her cane as she says that. "Percussive maintenance, you know?

[120vision]

"I thought I saw my dead best friend. And my favourite student, but that's less alarming."

He's not going to go into how this best friend died. That's absolutely unnecessary.

"I'm glad to hear I wasn't the only one."

[henchgal]

"Was that something you'd been worried about, Gojou? That you were just...hallucinating on your own?" She leans in toward him, giving him a heavy look of concern. "Does that happen often for you?"

[120vision]

"It doesn't. But honestly, I hadn't been sure it was a hallucination."

He'd been worried that Getou was actually there and he hadn't tracked him down properly!

[henchgal]

"It definitely was. Everyone who got to the center of the funhouse had some experience with it. Hallucinations all over seem to be something that our enemy entities like playing with--ever since we had those rocks in the park in Dogtown months ago, we've dealt with them."

She shakes her head. "Means we need to perception-check one another, when things get weird."

[120vision]

"I'll have to keep that in mind if anything weird happens in the future." He opens his mouth, then hesitates before speaking. He pushes the question out, though - "Did anyone find out any information about the circus? I tried interrogating Fenix but I wasn't that great at it."

He feels off his game, lately. Without his powers functioning correctly, what is he worth, really?

[henchgal]

"It seems like Fenix was pretty good at avoiding giving up information. Some people were able to get something out of Pyre. And my roommates and I, uh, did some deep-dive analysis on video of Pyre burning."

It hadn't exactly been fun, going frame by frame of a man burning to death. Team-building exercise like fuck.

[120vision]

"Oh yeah? That must have been gross."

Yeah, that's pretty much all he takes out of that. He's not always the most sensitive guy.

"Did you see something interesting?"

CW: discussion of burning with some gruesome details.

"The fire put itself out when Fenix snapped. He actually seemed to have some contol over what was going on, during that act. But yeah, it's not all that fun to watch someone on fire until they melt."

She shakes her head as if trying to clear it like an etch-a-sketch.

[120vision]

"You need better stuff to wipe your brain with. Wanna go to a movie after this?"

The movie theatre was open all hours, wasn't it? Sure it was.

[henchgal]

"I don't know if I'm going to be awake for long enough to make a movie tonight. At some point, I'm going to crawl into one of those tents and crash. But I'm definitely up for catching a movie with you at some point--over the weekend, maybe."

Besides, going out late tonight would mean coming back to the beach to sleep anyway, because it'd definitely take them later than ADI's curfew.

"I'll hold you to it, then."

Gojou looks pretty excited about this. He likes sharing things he enjoys with the people he likes, and he's definitely fond of Meredith.

[henchgal]

"And in the meantime, we should probably get you something to eat, so you're not drinking on an empty stomach."

And she might find something to munch on as well. Yes? Yes. She lightly slips her good arm in his arm, and begins heading toward the buffet.

[120vision]

"I'm bad at remembering to eat."

Which may be his way of tipping her off that he hasn't eaten all day. He follows along and looks at the barbecue's food for the first time, appearing excited.

"You tried any of this yet?"

[henchgal]

"Do I need to start texting you to remind you?" She grabs a plate, looking over the table--though with her bad shoulder right now, juggling plate and cane seems like it's a lot. She tries to hold the cane against her body with her elbow.

"I haven't tried it yet, but it all smells good."

[120vision]

"Do you want me to help you out?" Gojou offers. He's not going to insist, he knows all about pride, but he figures it'd be nice to offer. As for the texting offers, well, he ignores it. He doesn't want to admit he wouldn't pay attention to such a thing and just do what he wants.

[henchgal]

"If you don't mind. I'm flying with one wing right now." See, Gojou's proven he doesn't see her as weak, so letting him help, it's okay. It's better than just about everyone else.

...though she still hasn't explained how she got hurt, has she?
