You Wanna Know How I Got These Scars? [NETWORK] apr 28

Who: ADI Securities, IT, and others
Username: timjdrake
Warnings: mass surveillance, invasion of privacy, player plot

ADI is now introducing its newest security system. Those currently working SECURITY or IT have first dibs to enroll in a class that will teach you how to read and report the data this new system is giving us, as well as how to manipulate the presentation of supernatural readings to forecast where they might pop up next.

Contact Neil to get placed on the orientation list.

There is also the opportunity to help this project by simply giving us permission to access your phone or other personal devices
via an app. The more data points we have collected the better.

The system works by tapping into personal cellphones and other computers and sending back the distortion in voice or video that has been identified as coming from the use of magic. Devices of the residents of Gloucester, MA are now feeding live data to us. The goal for now is to get ahead of potential local attacks instead of being solely reactionary.

As you might imagine, keeping up with so much incoming information requires a large number of dedicated personnel.

Consider reaching out to get involved to help. It could save a life.

[ says the dude voluntarily starting the shitshow in the first place! ]

I suspect that in some cases, the difference between active and passive is slim to none. I would love to see your qualifications.

Of course.

Say there is a door to a corridor. Once you enter the corridor, you cannot leave. The corridor always exists and cannot be created or destroyed. I assume you would classify the corridor itself as 'active.' Now, let's say that someone maintains the corridor—for this example, we'll call her Helen. Helen can directly feed off the terror of those in the corridor, though she does not change the corridor herself. She could let them out. But she refuses to.

How would you classify her? Her inaction causes action. She benefits from being passive—but isn't being passive an active choice in itself?
