Those currently working SECURITY or IT have first dibs to enroll in a class that will teach you how to read and report the data this new system is giving us, as well as how to manipulate the presentation of supernatural readings to forecast where they might pop up next.

There is also the opportunity to help this project by simply giving us permission to access your phone or other personal devices
via an app. The more data points we have collected the better.

The system works by tapping into personal cellphones and other computers and sending back the distortion in voice or video that has been identified as coming from the use of magic. Devices of the residents of Gloucester, MA are now feeding live data to us. The goal for now is to get ahead of potential local attacks instead of being solely reactionary.

As you might imagine, keeping up with so much incoming information requires a large number of dedicated personnel.

Malcolm is at his desk making a paperclip chain that might be long enough to clip around the equator. He lights up when he sees Neal walk up with coffee.

“Hi! Sure! Pull up a chair,” he says, scooting his over and gathering his paperclip monstrosity into one corner like he just won a pot at poker.

Neal smiles. He can't help it, as anxious and wary as he's feeling. Malcolm's expression, the paperclip project, the enthusiasm in his voice--it's all too much for Neal to keep the expression away.

"Come walk with me. Let's get some air."

He offers the coffee and takes advantage of their current angles to kiss Malcolm's forehead the way he used to so easily.

“Okay.” He takes the coffee as he stands, falling into step beside Neal. “Everything okay?”

"No," he says, dropping his voice enough that no one close by can easily hear. He's always cautious on ADI's grounds, but now he's feeling even moreso. Still, he slips an arm around Malcolm's waist, comfort and routine in one, and offers a few bright social smiles to the people who look their way as they head for the front doors.

"...What's going on?" Malcolm asks in confusion, trying to look him over from where he's pressed against Neal's side. "Did you get hurt?"
