[Mini-Mingle] A Shopping Trip

Given that those who're staying at the ADI housing are getting a clothing allowance, Meredith has taken it upon herself to organize a shopping trip to the Marshalls at Gloucester Crossing. The store is full of surprising deals, and a wide enough variety of clothing that people of all genders might find something interesting. There's even some of the new fall selections in stock already.

While Meredith's been sure to grab those who obviously need a little help, and those who'll obviously enjoy the chance to get out of ADI territory, everyone's welcome to come along for the trip.

(ooc: feel free to tag around with one another as well as me, this is just a fun way to introduce our characters to one another)

Save. Up.

Ew.

Okay. He's been through tougher trials.

"Right. Um. Maybe they have something in a... business casual," he says, glancing around and heading to a rack of men's shirts. "Or... at least pyjamas."

"It looks like there's some plaid flannel pajama pants in. They're out of season, so they're on sale."

Meredith may already have a couple of pairs in her cart.

"And you can look a little less disappointed. Some of us actually live like this."

He looks over. "I know," he informs her. But that knowledge is shaky at best. While he works with normal working people all the time, he's never exactly shopped with them.

He pulls out a short sleeve button down shirt and peers at it for a moment.

"I'm going to need to invest in undershirts," he declares.

[henchgal]

"Buy them in bulk online, you'll save that way. Amazon, Walmart." She shrugs, holding up the blouse in her hand to a skirt on the rack. "Hm, this might make a cute outfit, and the skirt would also go with that vest I found. The trick to building a wardrobe like this is making sure you can mix-and-match."

“So get everything in black,” is what he gets from that advice. He puts the shirt back and picks up another. “Or grey.”

[henchgal]

"Staple pieces, yes. With occasional pops of color in shirts and ties. It's a solid strategy. I like to bring in khaki and chocolate browns, I know they work for me."

She offers Malcolm a small smirk. "You've really never had to do bargain hunting at all?"

He looks over. “Not for clothes,” he admits. A beat. “Or anything else,” he confesses.
