[ Coming to you live and in living text form from the Thanksgiving Feast, it's a Kate. Who is kind of upset and some of y'alls behavior. Which is a little ironic because as of this point, Kate has added a little pepper to the food. She wants the attention. ]

Have you all forgotten how to behave? A lot of work went into this party and some of you guys are acting like children. Cut it out.

And that includes moving the taxidermy animals around!

Must be even though I don't think it's nearly late enough for drunken shenanigans. I wonder if they pre-gamed?

I don't want to believe that.

Quite possible. To be fair, for anyone who's been stuck next to Gary in accounting, that might be the only way to make it bearable.

They seem comparatively harmless, at least.

[He might revise that opinion if a boar's head appears in the punch bowl. Which seems like a plausible turn of events, really.]

Maybe. But there isn't assigned seating. People can move to get away from Gary.

At least, until they're not. For all we know, they're just waiting for the right time to strike.

Maybe if we tie him to his seat. He's a bit of a barnacle.

[Poor Gary. He just wants to make friends.]

I'd ask if you had a lighter handy in case they do stage an attack, but I suppose we shouldn't really be promoting arson, all things considered.

No. Let's not promote arson. The last thing we need is a fire.

People are suggesting the animals are cursed and I'm starting to believe it.

That does seem to fit with the way things usually go around here.

In the absence of that terrifying woman you live with, I promise I'll protect you from any cursed animal attacks.

Another holiday ruined. I really shouldn't be surprised.

You think Yelena is terrifying? [ And she is but Yelena is also Kate's BFF. She's going to play down her friend's skills because she doesn't want people to know that about Yelena. It's supposed to be a secret. ]

I place my safety in your capable hands. All taxidermy animals look out!

[ And after a moment, she does something brave thanks to the pepper. ]

Would you like to go out for drinks sometime?

To be scrupulously fair, my first impression was getting caught trying to sneak out of that demolition pit.

[More to the point: he's seen the network posts. She digs. He has damn good reason to hide his affiliations. It's a match made in convenient excuses to avoid playercest.]

I'd love to. Tuesday? If I'm not wildly underestimating this holiday, that should put us out of the firing line of any frazzled shoppers.

If things here are anything like they are at home, tomorrow marks the start of the Christmas shopping season in America. There are occasionally riots. Anyone with an ounce of self preservation stays home until the weekend's through unless it's a matter of life or death.

Oh come on. You must be kidding. It can't be that bad.

[ What's the worst that could happen? ]

I was planning on going to the craft store tomorrow after work.

[ Kate that is the last place you want to be on Friday. Oh well. At least she'll be able to tell him how right he had been on their date. ]

I'm genuinely not. Unfortunately, I left all my proof in another universe.

[And looking up Black Friday tramplings here would just be depressing.]

It truly is. Do you think many people have started carrying a "whisked away to another universe" emergency kit?

It's absolutely that bad.

No. Who even thinks like that? A bug-out-bag though? I should probably put one of those together. Fair warning, last winter we all got snowed in.

[ If her roomies haven't made her one already. It's hard telling sometimes. ]

People who've been whisked away to another universe, potentially.

That doesn't sound too bad. Which I'm going to go out on a limb and guess means it was actually a horrifying ordeal, and not just because even the best of friends can start to grate when you can't get away from them for a minute.

Would it even travel with us?

It wasn't as bad as it could have been for my apartment. I know how to keep myself busy but you're right. After a while, it was tiring.

I'm going to choose to imagine it would. Trying to work out which items would or wouldn't travel with us will just give me nightmares about landing stark naked in Times Square in another reality.
