[ Coming to you live and in living text form from the Thanksgiving Feast, it's a Kate. Who is kind of upset and some of y'alls behavior. Which is a little ironic because as of this point, Kate has added a little pepper to the food. She wants the attention. ]

Have you all forgotten how to behave? A lot of work went into this party and some of you guys are acting like children. Cut it out.

And that includes moving the taxidermy animals around!

[ No please. No niceties. Just plain and straight to the point. ]

Must be even though I don't think it's nearly late enough for drunken shenanigans. I wonder if they pre-gamed?

I don't want to believe that.

Quite possible. To be fair, for anyone who's been stuck next to Gary in accounting, that might be the only way to make it bearable.

They seem comparatively harmless, at least.

[He might revise that opinion if a boar's head appears in the punch bowl. Which seems like a plausible turn of events, really.]

Maybe. But there isn't assigned seating. People can move to get away from Gary.

At least, until they're not. For all we know, they're just waiting for the right time to strike.

Maybe if we tie him to his seat. He's a bit of a barnacle.

I'd ask if you had a lighter handy in case they do stage an attack, but I suppose we shouldn't really be promoting arson, all things considered.

Some people are being compelled to drink blood and only blood. No fangs, though, so that's disappointing.

Because I am a fool. And ordinarily taxidermied animals, for the most part, don't tend to be cursed. I had good odds to begin with.

(Cortana may actually make a show of waving at her in person from where she's sitting at the table. There's no reason for her to be here, she can't eat, and yet here she is anyway!)

Also I gotta say I agree with the taxidermy being cursed. Which is really not a thing I needed to be thinking out while at a party in the same building as them.

I know but this is quicker than speaking to every single person.

Maybe they are. Best not to touch them. They weren't planned in the decorations. Damn. Is this going to be another ruined holiday that we can't celebrate?

I hope not, but we should probably be prepared for that to happen. Hope for the best, plan for the worst and all.

You remember the halloween party, right? Don't go to holiday parties feels like it should be rule #3 in the Gloucester survival handbook.

I am mad but not for attending. I helped and volunteered. Everything was on the up and up and then we get here and there are taxidermy animals everywhere. Oh! The caretaker says that they've always been there and she's almost very convincing. But I would remember seeing them during set up. They just stare at you with their dead eyes. And now people are starting food fights and drinking from mop buckets.

I do remember! I do. But this was supposed to be different.

I'm guessing that's not what you do at Thanksgiving? All I know is that it features a lot of turkey and people say what they're thankful for.

It's never different in Gloucester, Kate. If you want a party, you should host it yourself. That's basically the closest thing you have to a guarantee that it won't be a meal for something else.

Though still learning all of the intricacies of this land, I find myself agreeing with your statement most fervently. Without any prior offense, a gentleman I only just met threw water in my face and attempted to frighten me, all while apologizing for those very same actions.

I no longer know what to believe. I can only hope your suggestions are taken to heart by all in attendance.

See? That's the thing I'm talking about. I saw one person get hit in the face with mashed potatoes.

[ Had it been funny? A little. Especially because Kate knows the person who got hit in the face. However, she couldn't laugh because they made such a mess and that had ruined the funny part. ]

I'm really very sorry that happened to you. It is completely uncalled for. Are you okay?

Yes, I was only startled, thank you. Though his actions were quite unmannerly, I do not believe his intent was to harm me. And you, my dear? Are you quite alright?

It was a mess and it wasn't just the once.

I'm glad you weren't hurt and it's fortunate it was only water. Oh. I'm fine. [ A little revved up and spoiling for something like a scene or a fight. ] I'm just upset that after all of Pam's and the other volunteer's hard work, people are acting like lunatics. It's frustrating.

Are the people in attendance normally like this? It's a little shocking to see such blatant disregard for the people around them.
