Thousands of people! There are even people who just fly helicopters to take rich people to ski down a mountain. Not me, but it happens.

But I will give you specialized.

That sounds like it would be interesting to listen to. My world doesn't have a good track record with aliens, but I think I would probably like to see a dance club on another planet.

Neither does mine, really.
Missed most of it, but they apparently keep trying to take over or destroy us.
There was this spider lady who ruined my wedding and murdered my fiance.
Bloody expensive.

What sorts of run-ins with aliens have you had?

World conquering. Killing half the planet.

I had not actually met an alien in person before being brought here, but they made their mark on my Earth.

Yeah... that's about it for a lot of them.
Some of them are nice, though.
They're just... people, I guess?
Good and bad.

Yeah. I don't think we would be any better, if we could actually travel to space.

Maybe worse. We're bad enough on our own planet.

From what I've seen, humans do spread out around the universe.
Sort of inevitable if we last long enough, right?
But it's all the same things again. Some people are great, some people aren't.
Species doesn't really matter so much.

Sometimes that seems like a very big if.

What year are you from?

2008, but my friend's ship does time along with space, so I get around in terms of where and when, both.
The 1920s are mad fun for a little while, so long as you can pop out again when you want.

So you can time travel on purpose? I'm very jealous.

What's your favorite year that you've been to?

Hmm...
1969.
He took me to see the moon landing.
Properly from space.
We stayed hidden, didn't get involved, but it was just... that's where it really started for so many people.
For my grandad.
He told me about seeing that on the telly and just imaging.
He went out an bought a telescope the next day, and he's had it ever since.
I remember, growing up, he'd always bring me out to the back garden to look up.
I thought he was daft for the longest time, but... yeah.
Seeing it out there, being out there, it gets into your bones.
That wonder.

Yeah, he's always lived with us.
Closer to him than my parents, really.
He got me a lot better than they did.

Guess you know what it's like having family back home, though.
Even if they aren't blood, it's still the same.
