Who: Romelle
Username: blomblossom
Warnings: Linked image is of a weird animal statue with a transparent womb, so... that's a thing. Otherwise none!
[ MotherAndChild.jpg is embedded here. ]
Do you have any idea how long I have to keep this on my desk for 'observation'? I know the child isn't moving (I checked the security cameras!) but it's making me imagine things when it's in the corner of my eye.
... does anybody who bought something cuter from Things of Beauty want to swap?
[ And then another new post after a few minutes, because Romelle has not yet gotten the hang of post editing: ]
Also can someone please explain what "pogge" (I think) means? I thought I had adjusted to Earth language well enough, but these videos might as well be speaking Snakurlan.

Wait, pardon my ignorance, but do you mean to say you weren't on solid ground until your unceremonious vacation to Gloucester, miss? I'm not sure I follow...
Oh, none other than the Holy Father Himself, God who art in Heaven, my dear~! 😊 Do you also worship, by chance?

But it was very very far away from here, elsewhere in the universe. I am what people here refer to as a 'space alien', I think.
So I can't say I know anything about the 'Holy Father' either.
[ And she finds him instinctively dubious - 'worship' is a difficult topic for her. Part of her doesn't want to talk about it at all, but a larger one is curious to understand why other people than her own would choose to follow somebody. ]

fascinating!! 🤯🙀
Do you mind if I ask where you're from, in that case? I suppose it makes sense that you wouldn't be familiar with Catholicism and God if you and I aren't even from the same planet!! Amazing...

I live on a planet hidden in a very inaccessible corner of space where no traveler can pass through without intense preparation. The planet itself is largely uninhabitable, but my people exist in a biodome that provides us with a beautiful green landscape reminiscent of our original home planet.
We have been mostly out of contact with the outside world for generations, so a lot of our culture is built around keeping the stories of old alive. I suppose that is what Earth religion is also like, in some sense?

And you really aren't wrong! Stories and fables as well as the written word of the Good Book has kept our beliefs alive... I would love to hear more about yours! You know, as long as this isn't coming across as intrusive or nosy or anything, it's simply a terribly interesting topic...! It isn't every day I get to speak with someone from worlds far and away!

I wouldn't mind telling you about my people but if it's no trouble, I'd like to do it in person. We are in a rather precarious situation at home so even here I don't want to take risks by providing much information on a communicator.
Would you explain this planet's worship to me in turn?

But - say, are you a fan of hot chocolate? I happen to know a café where they can make cats out of whipped cream on top!! 😻☕ Maybe it would be a nice companion to story time??

Hot chocolate sounds positively delightful! I am still needed at my desk for another two hours of reviewing baffling Earth video footage, but I could meet you at six?

[ And he will indeed find a young alien lady waiting at the time. Romelle looks pretty human, except for the unusual color of her eyes and the markings under them that could pass for makeup. Since arriving in Gloucester, she's taken to wearing her hair down so it covers her distinctly inhuman ears.
However, there is something inhuman about her left. And that is her sense of fashion. Currently she's wearing an ankle length skirt with blue polka dots as well as a bright pink shirt saying "Beach Time!!" and... one single orange fingerless glove? She's waving with the glove hand, hi!!
Also her socks don't match. Just... don't mind all that. ]

Abel is not quite as... fashionably inclined, wearing a rather plain white shirt and black slacks with a non-descript black coat overtop it; the most notable thing about is person is probably his rosary-- and the fact he's a tall and lanky fellow with silver hair? maybe. depends what circles you run in if any of this is noteworthy at all, right??
...but she. she.
is noteworthy.
it makes it quite easy to spot her, and he is, all at once, instantly enamored. ]
--Ah! I don't suppose you are my mysterious penpal from the phone-thing, are you...? H-haha, a pleasure to meet you in the flesh~!
[ Abel's waving at her right back as he approaches... oh my goodness, right on down to her socks, this outfit is. 10/10, ]

Network user blomblossom, yes! The name's Romelle, actually. You are 'nightroad' then?
[ There's a curious look to the rosary because she's definitely seen those around but not enough to be quite sure of their religious affiliation. ]
no subject
Yes, Miss Romelle-- it's a delight! Father Abel Nightroad, at your service...! I love your shirt, by the way!

[ She is absolutely delighted! Finally someone appreciates her attempts to pick out the best-looking parts of human fashion. Her handshake is quick but firm. ]
Father...? So a religious leader is seen as in a paternal position? Or is 'Father' actually part of your name as-is?
[ Like, who knows, some people are named after fruits or flowers and all. ]
