Do you have any idea how long I have to keep this on my desk for 'observation'? I know the child isn't moving (I checked the security cameras!) but it's making me imagine things when it's in the corner of my eye.

A small colony deep in outer space. I don't believe the planet itself has a name, actually. And if it did, I'd be obligated to keep it secret anyway, so it doesn't matter much.

The circumstances are not ideal, but...

I find it exciting, really! Traveling to places far from my home has always seemed like an impossible dream, but here I am! Learning a whole new culture on the planet of a species I had never even heard of!

I suppose that's one way of looking it. Aren't you worried about never being able to return home?

I am.

Or maybe it is more accurate to say that I am worried about the people from home. If I am never able to go back there, that is fine by me. I would just like everyone else to have the chance to leave as well.

No. My family is already gone.

I just care about the community.
