[wanda was not certain as to how she could exactly be helpful to the ADI; she found herself not really compelled to join any of the departments and, even then, she did not enjoy the idea of bureaucracy. she had done it once, with the avengers, and the experience had not been stellar. however, she does find interest in the idea that witches and witchcraft are present in this world.
well, 'were present' would be more apt.
an inkling of rumors of a witch in dogtown has led her to both the public library and the ADI's research library. rumors, information, anything would be helpful to peruse over. she's made photocopies of what newspaper clippings were relevant and borrowed a few history books with the particular information she sought for, and now wanda is back at ADI's research library where she can sit down at a table and go through her findings.]
Sorry, everywhere else is taken.
[figures that it's nerd o'clock, and every other table and meeting pod is occupied, except for this one with only one individual—a woman whom wanda thinks she's seen in the ADI's quarterly meeting, maybe.
with a sigh, she slumps down on the chair and sets her books and papers down, adjusting her seat and trying not to look so aimless about it all. this isn't really her forté, but wanda is willing to give it a try.]
[is it wrong to use her magic to pull the toilet seat down, instead of her hands? is it wrong that she has basically taken ownership of one bowl, one spoon, and one cup as her own and keeps it in her apartment most of the time? would wanda really be blamed for staring in exasperation at the lack of regard for how long a load is left in the washing machine long after the cycle has finished? it is just a small set of grievances, and wanda thought she was better than this —
but it is really starting to get to a point where she needs to let go and focus on keeping her apartment space tidy, if nothing else.
(well, there's that hole in the wall between hers and jeff's apartment that came about because of the water seeping in. she's put a motivational poster bonnie had lying around to cover it up for now. needless to say, wanda put it up the other way around.)
she is heading up the stairs with her laundry basket, hugging the wall to the right, when she notices someone else heading down at the same time. it could be any of the guys and they would be greeted with a narrowing of her eyes (except not jack, ren, nor harry; wanda thinks that they are great and they they can do no harm), only to look up and find—]
Oh.
[so surprised she is at the fact that it's another woman that she just kind of... stands there.]
[establishing a friendship with yelena had been a surprisingly easy thing to accomplish. perhaps it has something to do with the fact that they come from the same world, but wanda quietly believes that it is because of the relationship they both had with natasha—someone whom she even looked up to. it's hard to say that losing her makes their friendship any more significant, but it is something to hold on to, regardless.
and what wanda really needed was a break—a girls' day out, just walking around and talking and tasting the different delights found in gloucester.
ice cream tastes so much nicer in the cold weather for some reason.]
Not unless you had at least three broken ribs after the fact.
[in her very informed opinion, about whatever adventure yelena has been telling her about. chocolate might be a very basic choice for ice cream, but wanda doesn't care. the streets of gloucester are quiet and empty but for the few cars and pedestrians going about their business, and the sound of the ocean gets louder as they walk down towards the docks.]
