[open log] Spend all your time on money

Who: Danny and YOU!
When: Arrival before the September event
Where: Various; ADI HQ and housing, Dogtown, Packer's Cut, generally out and about
Summary: Danny's getting himself settled in, which means throwing himself into investigation ASAP and scoping out both the area and the ADI, and also considering starting work at one suspicious steakhouse.
Warnings: alcohol and homelessness references, stalking, possible cannibalism implications, general paranoia and overworking

I. ADI HQ and housing

Alright, fine, he lives here now. Sure. Danny's not too keen on crashing on ADI premises, but he's never stayed in an apartment and had to pay rent before, so at least until he figures that out he'll stay here. It's fine, this is fine.

...Okay, not really fine. Given his recent experiences being monitored by complete strangers and the fact his last proper home was with his less-than-stellar parents, there's no denying that he absolutely hates it here. His poor roommates will probably have a hard time catching him, since he fully intends to stay out of his assigned unit as much as possible, save for the most necessary personal needs. He'll stick around the housing area outside just long enough to catch them both, of course, to make sure they know he lives with them now and isn't some random breaking in or anything, but he's also going to be more than a little anxious to leave as soon as possible.

Housing aside, Danny's going to do some snooping around HQ while he's here. Not so much the digging around kind, though, moreso just kind of loitering in strategic positions and not-so-subtly spying on people as they go about their business. He catches some looks from certain ADI employees, but that's not really stopping him from doing it. He doesn't trust this agency as far as he can throw it, and he's pretty sure no amount of werewolf strength would even let him lift it. So. Snooping.

II. Just walkin' around

Danny's not much of a homebody, being pretty used to not having a home to hang around in, so a large part of his arrival to Glaucester is just going to be lots and lots of walking. Sometimes he's strolling around the streets among the growing number of tourists around, but he's just as often sticking his nose in seedier places for clues and hideouts. Dogtown is high on his list of destinations, given, well, dogs; thankfully he's taken Shiroe's advice despite the initial confusion and armed himself with whatever booze he could get his hands on, either ransacked from an ADI fridge or picked up cheap from a convenience store on the way out.

Before he hits the ghost town, though, he'll gladly stop for anyone who looks like they need a hand or just might have some handy info for him and be inviting enough for him to muscle past his shyness. He has a particular interest in music, often stopping for buskers here and there.

III. Dogtown

Once he's to Dogtown proper, though, it's time to get down to brass tacks. With his offering in one hand, Danny sets about properly skulking about. He's not quite stupid enough to directly engage its hungry inhabitants, but after enough time lurking here anyone who's also exploring or has followed him in might find him doing the following. As if you're the one who's suspicious and not, say, the definitely strange inhabitants of this place. Perhaps in the shadows of the trees and few surviving buildings you even catch a literal shine in his eyes, unnervingly animal in nature. He might be...a little caught up in something. The Bastion's underlying strangeness since his arrival is a lot more potent out here apparently, considering this is prime real estate for a hungry wolf to prowl.

He's quick to snap back to his senses when called out, though, so maybe he's indulging his urges on purpose somewhat? He's not already trying to scare people, is he?

(He absolutely is. Danny's not about to do any hero-ing without a little fuel in the tank, and the Bastion is hungry. Just a little bit couldn't hurt, right?)

IV. Packer's Cut

Eventually his explorations (and his appetite) bring him to the newest steakhouse in town. Danny hasn't held down much more than convenience store cashier positions before, but after a day roaming around and getting a feel for the place Danny is starting to wonder if maybe he should take a shot at working something nicer. And working with meat? Sounds great for a young werewolf. He 100% has not clocked this place as questionable in the slightest, so one may find him peering at the establishment or otherwise ogling any public job listings around town.

V. Wildcard

Ping/DM me @ ursys#1571 on Discord or send a PM here if you want to set up something else! Danny's working himself to the bone to get himself situated, so there's tons of room to bump into him in various ways. He's also got his IC inbox for mail, visits, and Network messages if that's more your speed.

This guy might look kind of suspicious, anyway. He's got his tactical vest on-- though there's a hoodie over that, and a glove, keeping the metal arm hidden-- and the full face mask and goggles covering his face. There's a clear outline of a gun under said hoodie, on his back, and another probably at his thigh. He walks like he's planning to kill something, he just hasn't decided what yet.

He's prowling the edges of Dogtown, not delving too far in, but eyes warily moving from rooftop to alley to shadowed building, looking for signs of the source of the trouble. Dogs, people, something else-- half-expecting something else, after the kelpies. Avoiding reflective surfaces.

He's a source of fear, certainly, but the fear isn't really... of Danny. He clocks the boy early on, and only stops short to swing one of those handguns around into Danny's face when he gets a little too close in his stalking. No words yet, just gun.
