Anyone who goes into Dogtown, especially around the Fox Hill area, bring liquor with you. With the newspaper mentioning the packs of dogs, I get the feeling someone's going to hare off to try to investigate. If you do, have a bottle of something alcoholic on hand.

Maybe this is a stupid question but...
Should we be surprised there are packs of dogs in a place called Dogtown?
It kind of seems like the people are the trespassers in this situation. I mean, it's right there in the name.

There's been rumors of werewolves or ghost dogs in Dogtown before, actually. I came across that in some research recently--this isn't a new phenomenon. I kind of wonder which came first, the dogs or Dogtown.

Wait, ghost dogs? That's a thing? I thought they were all supposed to go to heaven or something.
That's kind of depressing.

What does the liquor have to do with anything?

It's for the Queen of Witches, who curses anyone who comes near Fox Hill without paying a toll. "She demands a liquor from those who have it and blood from those who don't." I'd like to make sure no one is without a liquor if they're in that area.

Still a pretty weird thing for people to investigate, considering it seems like the mystery kind of solves itself. It's right there in the name. The thing about there being a Queen of Witches seems like the weirder part of the equation to me.

Unless that's like a totally normal thing and she just owns a condo and pays a mortgage there, in which case ignore me, I'm new.

I don't really know anything about what kind of person she is, except that her actual name is Thomazine "Tammy" Younger. Thomazine isn't a common American name, is it? I've never seen it before, but I'm not from around here.

As for your main point, even if Dogtown doesn't seem like a mystery, if people are getting hurt at a higher rate, enough for the news to report on it, I would bet that ADI's going to take an interest at some point.

Thomazine isn't really normal where I'm from, no, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything. I know a guy named Tank and person just called The Fox Lady. People get kind of weird with their names sometimes.

It's cool that you're looking out for people. I'm not planning on visiting, but I'm sure it'll help somebody else out, so, thanks.

I think the weirdest names I've heard are probably Lycopene, RamMutton or ★Kurama☆. Yes, the stars were part of his name.

Mine's simple, it's short for Shirogane Kei. The character for 'kei' can also just be read as 'e', and read like that it means 'fortress of wisdom' altogether.

[But these were all names used for MMORPG characters.]

If Ren or Wanda is cooking, it's usually really good and always okay to ask for some of it.

The really tall guy with pink hair is my roommate, Caduceus. He's friendly, very soft-spoken, no matter what he looks like. [Like not human, but he's not calling that out over the network.]

It's pretty alright, but apparently more cramped quarters than ADI.

I met Wanda, she seems really nice.

I haven't seen the tall pink guy or anyone named Ren yet, though. At least I don't think so.

( Zero concerns on the commentary over whether or not Cad is human. Jack's seen the weirdest shit. He doesn't bat an eye at anything anymore. One time a deer deadass walked into his gas station on two legs, managed to open the cooler and grab a bottle of water with its hoofs, walked up to the register, and puked up a dollar bill to pay for it. It ate the change Jack gave him and then left.

Not a deer person. Not a talking deer. Just a literal deer. )

I read the list of rules for ADI. It seemed really, really locked down. That curfew thing is kind of what sealed the deal, though.

( He doesn't sleep. Not being able to wander around at night would feel way too much like house arrest or something. )

It did seem like a little more control than necessary, given that most of us are, in fact, adults.

Exactly. I'm not really sure what happens after 11 pm that wouldn't happen at 8 pm, but I guess that's their decision.

Further thoughts on the matter might be better shared somewhere other than the ADI network. But I have them.

Just...be careful. This city, this world is not safe. People have a habit of assuming a world that's not their own isn't 'the real world'. But for the moment, all that surrounds us here? This is our reality.

Do they monitor it like Big Brother or something?

It's okay. My world is pretty... super not safe, too. I'm kind of used to it. Thanks for the warning, though.

If you were playing host to a bunch of people from other worlds whose intentions you don't fully understand, and you gave them a network, would you monitor it? The last world I was in didn't have this, quite, but the natives sent spies to try to understand what the newcomers were up to.
