Ill Met By Moo-Light

Who: Aelwyn Abernant & YOU?
When: 4th of September, two days after the last night of the circus.
Where: Holy Cow Ice Cream Cafe
Summary: A meeting, away from the prying eyes of ADI.
Warnings: TBA?

[Aelwyn mentioned offhand that they should discuss a plan of attack in person, away from the prying ever-present eyes of the ADI. Pretty early in the morning she tells a few people she thinks are tight with enough people to make a meeting work without having to go through the regular channels and one things leads to another and eventually, a meeting is organized.

At an Ice Cream place, which, to be fair, makes a really good milkshake. Aelwyn arrived here extra early, just to check that she managed to actually book the place and keep it away from prying eyes. Luckily, it seems that whatever money she has, it's good enough to afford one booking.

So she's there, at the table, a cup of ice cream in her hand.]

I think we've all got out suspicions, right? And I'd say a lot of us are sick of not knowing when we're being watched by those who claim to be protecting us.

Who wants to start? [Logically, she knows she should, but she's a dramatic bitch, so why should she.]

I don't have mine, but some of us aren't from places that have things like cell phones, so they might not realize how easy it is to install tracking apps and things... Or, uh, what a tracking app is. [BUT ANYWAY.] Using your powers is feeding the entities, isn't it? And--murder causes fear, too, obviously, so would that... [Hm.] Is there a way to deal with people without feeding the entities?

Maybe we should do some research on where the tipping point is. Of course, it's probably not as simple as "if you use more than ten magic spells something bad will happen", but there must be warning signs or something. [Talking about magic like this is very strange, but even if things sound like a different video game now, she can't say she's never experienced video game tropes.]

We definitely shouldn't go around killing people just to get powers to fight other people with powers. [Don't kill anyone who isn't evil? Don't kill anyone who isn't an avatar? This is all muddy waters and she's probably a hypocrite for participating in this conversation.] I agree with Mercy about asking the ADI about how they typically deal with avatars. I know part of why we're here [at this ice cream parlor, specifically] is not totally trusting them, but in that case, this is a good way to see them put their money where their mouths are, right?

That's what I've arrived at as well.

[Jaeger's voice is low and rough, steady in the relative quiet of the ice cream parlor. He taps at the cover of his notebook with idle energy.]

Working with ADI now will help us gather more information about them as well as whatever threats we're facing, and gives us access to resources we might not have on our own. Especially in a new world where our abilities are...compromised.

I don't know how accurate their warnings are, but that may be something to investigate as well. Apparently, there is a noticeable fatality rate for those that leave town and go off on their own.
