(The video starts, and two faces come into view. Those who live in the flophouse may recognize them as the two who spend most of their time in the kitchen together, talking and sharing culinary tips as they cook the night away and offer their dishes to those who live within the same walls, and occasionally the ADI-living comrade that comes to pay a visit.

Sitting side by side, they're smiling as if they were two old friends, and Ren guides the talk.)

Hey, this is Ren and Wanda. We'd like to invite everyone to have a barbecue outdoors with us next weekend, the 11th.

(Wanda takes over next:)

We can handle the cooking and everything ourselves, but some help would be appreciated. Ingredients, perhaps? (She looks over at Ren for confirmation on this.) Or if you want to bring something extra to share.

(It’s a nice way to bid farewell to the summer weather and the increasingly colder temperature settling in Gloucester afterall, right?

Wanda points at the camera. She’s all out of inspirational speeches about coming together and whatever.)

Is this live or just a video?

(Ren waves his hand, amused, and chuckles before he can reply as he fixes his glasses to his face.)

Anyways, we hope to see you there.

(And the video ends with smiling, excited faces.)

I wouldn't call it 'obligation', but everyone in the Flophouse has been very helpful in sharing responsibilities, Doctor Strange.

You might as well just have told me I don’t have a choice, since otherwise I’ll be labeled as “unhelpful”.

[He’s joking, though. He doesn’t mind it.]

What would you need me to do?

You were the one who had a feeling about it.

Perhaps a taste tester? I wouldn't want to burden your hands with more than you could handle.

[she's genuinely concerned about asking too much of him.]

[That’s surprisingly thoughtful of her, but a part of Stephen doesn’t want to be given mundane tasks specifically chosen because of the state of his hands.]

Now I feel like “unhelpful” has been upgraded to “useless”.

I can still carry things, Wanda. You should see me balance a pile of books in my arms. No one does it better.

[carmesi]

[haha oops?]

I would definitely like to see this balancing act.

[You never saw him bustling about the library in Kamar-Taj.]

Maybe you will. With plates and other… barbecue periphery [experience in bbq’s lacking] instead of spell books.

(Only reason he can see for him to think he's obligated to do anything.)

Wanda’s from my world. We’ve worked together once before.

[Not exactly on BBQ’s, but he’s not getting into that.]

A friend of Wanda is a friend of mine.

I'll be glad to see you.

[sorser]

I see she’s getting on pretty well with our fellow flophouse residents. That’s good to know.

I’m an extra pair of hands [no irony intended] wherever you need me.

I'm usually cooking at the flophouse, you're welcome to have a plate next time.

[sorser]

That’s generous of you, and it’d be silly of me to decline.

That said, be careful, or everyone is going to expect you and Wanda to do the cooking all the time.

I can't speak for Wanda, but I don't mind it. My recipes are from someone special to me.

It's a way to keep them close.

[sorser]

Friend? Family member?

[No harm in being, you know, a little nosy curious.]

Family. My legal guardian has a cafe.

[sorser]

Keeping the spirit of the family business alive, then. The barbecue is in good hands.

[forethinking]

I hope so. The shop is a curry place, though.

The menu is looking good, too. I'm excited.

[sorser]

Considering I know next to nothing about putting together a barbecue or preparing curry, my point still stands: it’s in good hands.

Everyone seems enthusiastic. We could do for a sense of community amongst our rag-tag band of universally misplaced people.

[That and Stephen would not mind an opportunity to get to know the people he’s supposed to work with better.]

That's what I think too. ADI and Bonnie's live separately, so we should get to know each other.
