LOG: Raine Whispers | Maybe There's Another Way To Fix This Greasy Mess? | OTA Mingle
Who: Raine Whispers + open

Summary: Raine's organising some repair efforts in response to Benny Holt’s sabotage and maybe getting up to mischief, network post + mingle log

It takes Raine a moment to figure out how to set up the video feed but once they do, they adjust their glasses and begin to speak.
“Listen. I've been thinking after seeing the state of the ADI apartments. What if some of us put our heads together and worked as a team to fix everything? Most of us individually have a variety of skills, so combined I think we could solve things faster this way. Plus.. I think it'll help soften the edge we've all been feeling if we work together.”
They give a very confident fist-in-palm motion.
“Everybody is welcome! In fact I encourage you to show up, especially if you have friends that were affected by this- and I'm confident that we all do. You can meet Eda and I outside of the apartments. We’ll bring a whole set up.”
Raine, distracted by Eda walking into the background, glances over their shoulder.
“And if you come, I'll cook you dinner. I'm pretty good at cooking.”
Eda, catching the tail end of their message, realises she’s in frame and gives a slightly awkward thumbs up before coming over to idly rest a hand on Raine’s shoulder.
“Oh yeah? Guess I’ll actually show up, then,” she says, as if she hadn’t already promised to. (And as if Raine wouldn’t most likely cook her dinner either way.)
Raine rolls their eyes at her, flustered.
“Eda! This is serious..” They quietly fuss, before shutting off the video.

a: What’s Gonna Work? [Open Mingle]
If Raine spots somebody outside the ADI apartments early in the morning, they're very quick to approach, clipboard in hand.
“Are you here to help out?”
If it's a yes, they hand over the clipboard with a smile. They have a list of things that need to be fixed that they’ve compiled- help them clean up the graffiti, fix the water or electricity where it's needed. and unlock doors (especially if you know how to pick locks- they'll turn a blind eye to it).
“I'm putting together groups based on skill. Why don't you look and see who's already here doing what. If you're interested, I'm going to be cleaning graffiti with whoever wants to do that.”
They let you on your way, or you can stay with them until they feel like enough people have shown up.
b: Team Work! [Tag-in with Raine]
Raine can be found around the ADI apartments cleaning the graffiti and unlocking doors, though they try to stay close to the front to catch people who got their message.
They’re tackling a rather difficult to reach piece of graffiti, and struggle to reach the top of it even with their height. Any acknowledgement- even just a look- will get them to embarrassedly pause what they’re doing to address their audience.
“Oh, no, I don’t need any help! If you want to help me clean graffiti though, there’s some down the hall that still needs to be washed off.”
c: Nothing To See Here! [tag-in with Raine and Eda ]
Saying no to Eda was so hard for Raine. In fact they hadn’t even hesitated to say yes when she’d given them her signature mischievous grin, and asked if they’d wanted to break into a room and look for something they shouldn’t be touching.
Raine stood adjacent to Eda, phone in hand as she picked the lock she’d taken interest in. They tried their best to act nonchalant, but would look on either side of the hall every once and a while. No matter what state of unlocking the door Eda is in, any interaction (or attempted interaction with Eda) will result in a nervous, friendly smile from Raine, and an attempt by them to block whatever Eda was doing from view.
“Eda’s just.. Trying to unlock a room and I decided to take a break!” They hand wave away suspicious looks. “I don’t think she needs any help either. Is there anything I can do for you? Water bottle? Or are you looking for something else to do?”

a: Witch’s Brew [Open Mingle]
After the day is done, Raine found a place to set out food for the others. It's a range of snacks, drinks, and actual hot food Raine had put together before they'd set out.
Some of Raine’s cooking is easily recognisable as human dishes they'd learned to make, but others.. not so much. They seem rather pleased with the rather strange, meat-filled dishes, as well as things they'd purchased from Bumble Gum. They're not quite fully aware that the others might not appreciate the Boiling Isle’s more carnivorous eating habits.
b: Mystery Meat [tag-in with Raine]
If asked about any boiling isles dish, they sigh, and shake their head.
“Oh? This? I made it based on something we eat at home. It's a disaster, though. I couldn't find anything to substitute for fresh fairy. Birds are also sort of different here but I was able to substitute. Oh, and also I normally get those nice red demon tentacles at the market, but since there's no market here, I just got this.. weird looking tentacled thing instead.”
They make a face, and gesture to one of the elements of the dish, which does appear to be a whole squid stuffed inside a Cornish hen. Both have been somehow cooked fully, but it is unsightly.
At least most of the other dishes seem normal- if you can stand being around the mystery meat, the roasted potatoes next to it seem quite appealing.

[Nor is there any denying that they have all been affected by the various inconveniences and other difficulties of late. To lesser or greater degrees, yes. But the apartments are very much in poor shape, and though Emet-Selch might not have the whole of his skills at his disposal here, he can very much still help through non-magical means.]
