( Sitting outside, Gara sticks out against the side of the flophouse like a sore thumb in his cyberpunky get-up. He has a forty-ounce in a brown bag, putting off a pretty interesting picture.

( Man, this place is rough, but it sure as fuck is cool.

Gara has his cowl and hood pulled up, poring over the limited selection with an intent eye. There's something that catches his eye; a little preserved cobra in a bottle. He's all starry-eyed to look at it. Plainly, he has to have it. He doesn't have a mind to steal, though, and nor does he have much in the way of money so far. )

... How's this place with tradin'.

[ Oh hey, it's that guy! The guy who kept Gara from walking into traffic! Elias is leaving Bonnie's, also sticking like a sore thumb, though his is due to his carefully pressed and spotless suit. As he leaves the building, he spots Gara. Looking him over, he can't help but lightly sass, ]

I didn't know Bonnie had rules against drinking on the premises.

( Oh, hey.

Man, they really could not look more different.

Gara huffs a laugh, takes a drink. )

Hoodrat shit takes me outside sometimes.

( An upward jerk of his head, then, imposing just a bit by asking: )

Where y'headed, suit.

Back to ADI, [ Elias says, with a little shrug of his shoulders. ] There was something I had to take care of at Bonnie's. Now that it's finished, might as well head back home.

[ He looks over at Gara before musing, ] That is, unless you think of a reason why I should stay.

[ He's almost daring the kid to come up with a reason. ]

Pfft. Naw, wouldn't wanna keep a suit from work.

( He takes another swig. )

I wanna get the fuck outta here myself, but ain't nothing worth my attention in this place.

This place as in Bonnie's or this place as the world as a whole?

... Bonnie's, I guess.

( To say this whole place isn't worth his attention would be a lie; he just wishes he weren't here. )

[ Elias lets out a small, quiet chuckle before,]

I'm not surprised. Both of our dormitories seem useful but also...stifling.

Useful how? Ain't they just places to crash.

( Squinting.

True, but they're places to crash with a lack of rent. ADI could have easily turned us on our own the moment we got here. And yet, they provide the most basic amenities and keep us sheltered, safe, and watched.
