Moving Day | Closed
Who: Hunter, Eda, Raine, Peter
When: Mid-May
Where: ADI Apartment, Bonnie's Flophouse
Summary: Hunter's movingin with his parents to Bonnie's
Warnings: None
In the end, the decision to move to Bonnie's wasn't that hard. Eda had asked him to think about it, back when he first arrived, and he had, many times. But he had fallen into a routine. He was comfortable. He liked his roommate. He thought he was doing okay.
And then he met Raine in the graveyard and it quickly became apparent that he was not okay. More than that, he wanted what they and Eda were offering.
[ Closed to Peter ]
The first order of business was letting his roommate know. It would be rude to just up and leave without saying something. And Peter was a friend, one that he very much would like to keep.
So right around breakfast time, he hovers by the table, hands tapping on the back of a chair.
"Hey, Peter... Got a minute?"
[ Closed to Eda and Raine ]
Turns out, he doesn't actually own much. All his clothes fit into one box, padding the few knick-knacks he's picked up. The other two boxes contain nothing but books, and they are both too heavy and unweildy to haul up the stairs on his own, though he insisted on taking one of the book boxes.
He's halfway up the stairs before he remembers his manners and glances over his shoulder.
"Thanks for the help."

He'd never thought of living in the castle as something special (and definitely didn't think of it that way now), but he also recognizes that his being raised within the castle walls was a unique experience. It's a shame any good memories he has of the place are now tainted.
"It was...lonely." He shrugs. "I spent most of my time training or studying or working. There was no one else my age, so...yeah."

Sure, he didn't exactly have many friends, but, he still was more used to modern America's idea of growing up. Go to school, meet people go home, rinse and repeat.
"I'm glad you're getting a chance to know people now though. There aren't a ton of teenagers on ADI campus, but there could be more people our age at Bonnie's? Who knows." He means that, even if he's cramming hash browns into his face whilst saying it. "You can def text or call me whenever."
no subject
"Yeah, me too." He pauses, frowning a bit. "I...actually, I don't know if there are any. I didn't think to check who else lives there. That's probably important..."
He nods absently. Of course he will call or text, and probably often.

"It makes it hard to keep track of who you can reach out to. Makes me glad you, Leo, Rue and Donnie are still around." Sure, Donnie didn't really like Peter that much, but, he was still pretty cool.

He hasn't experienced completely losing someone, but he can imagine it feels awful. "I suppose there's no warning when it happens. That doesn't seem fair."

The fork ends up in his grasp again, prodding at the hash browns in an fidget he can't completely keep under wraps. He tried. "Yeah, its... never good. There are never any answers either, so, it leaves you just wondering." His own mind kept spinning on what could have happened to Tony, but it was easier to not hold onto that.

He pushes a portion of his eggs to the edge of his plate so Flapjack can pick at them, but seems to forget that he should also be eating. There's too much to think about.
"Apparently, past-me was still living in the castle when he...I? arrived here. But that was already months in my past when I got here. Did that happen to you?"
no subject
"Sort of. I was on a summer trip before this with my class." He pokes at his egg absently, "The other me came from earlier, I'm from towards the end of the trip."
Peter still isn't sure how to explain to Hunter he's sort of dead back home, but he's just sidestepping that for now. Being hit by a train feels like a lot to bring up.

Leaning on one hand and taps his fork lightly on the edge of his plate. "But the current Raine is from farther back than when they were first here, so it's not consistent. Or even linear."
Oh, hey. So's Flap. Definitely no reason to bring these things up.
no subject
Sure, he could go check the network, but Peter wasn't sure how far back ADI archived anything about previous people who lived here.
Or how much they really cared.
"It's all random. Kind of- like this place, I guess."
no subject
"Yeah..." Hunter frowns. "Maybe...every so often, if we don't see each other for a while, we can send each other something small, like an emotional face." You know, the little yellow faces on the phone. "Just...reassurance that we're still around?"
no subject
After living together this long, it was hard not to think of Hunter as his friend. Next to Leo, and Rue, Hunter had comfortable found a space in Peter's life.

"I'll try too. Um, it just might take a while." He is aware he's a notoriously slow typer, but he doesn't know what to do about it except keep practicing. If only the buttons weren't so tiny...
