[log] i know you're nothing but an enemy
Who: Martin and Elias
When: Before the circus rolls into town
Where: Their (unfortunately) shared apartment in ADI housing
Summary: Jon can't be around to keep the peace forever, and both Martin and Elias are nothing if not incredibly, incredibly petty. Besides, it's been a while since just the two of them had a talk.
Warnings: Likely big TMA spoilers through the end of the podcast, probably some curse words, wouldn't be surprised if knives got brandished.
It's a bit surprising to Martin, after seeing the literal apocalypse, that he could still decide a single situation was actally reminiscent of hell.
Sure, there was the biblical version with fire and devils, but even that didn't matter much where the fears were concerned. There was his domain, which seemed utterly gut-wrenching, and a variety of other places he would give quite a bit never to go back to. But if pressed, he might have come up with 'being stuck back in the Archives with Elias Bouchard'.
As it turns out, he was half right. Now he's in an apartment with Elias Bouchard, and he's pretty sure this is actually hell instead.
He'd tried to protest when the ADI agent assigned the three of them to the same living space since they 'seemed to know each other', but there was little argument to be had and it all went too fast for a proper appraisal. Besides, he knows Jon is trying to keep it remotely level, and he certainly doesn't want to be kicked out in a world he doesn't understand, but that hasn't stopped him from attempting to bodyblock the other man from Jon at any given opportunity. And now, for the first time since their arrival, it's just... them, for a bit. Just Martin sitting at the kitchen table, trying and failing to read a book and bouncing his leg like it's about to rocket off of him.
It's not too long before he gives in, takes a huff of breath, and closes the book with a snap. "Alright then! Out with it, I'm-- I'm sure you've got a lot of insults you've stored up somewhere just waiting for this opportunity, or something rude you've been not saying because you think Jon will get mad at you, I-- I don't care. I'm just telling you now, I don't care."
Great start, for sure.

"Fine then. Even if you haven't yet. You're stuck here with us, and that's two versus one. Jon's not going to do your dirty work anymore. We know your plan, we beat it once and we'll do it again." The words don't come with the kind of confidence of a person lying, but there's always just a little weakness in his resolve; his specialty aren't these kind of showdowns, but he's been thinking about this one for a long time that never got fulfilled back home.
Now if only he could think of more to say.
Martin doesn't quite avert his gaze, but he does stop glaring directly at Elias as he keeps talking. "You could just give up, you know. Do something better this time. You've got another option to not end the world."
