Maybe I'm just getting paranoid in my old age, but does anyone else feel as though something's been testing us these past few months? Between January swallowing up memories, and this entire telltale heart nightmare, it's starting to feel a bit like probing to see just what buttons need to be pushed to get everyone to turn on each other.

I've been here for over a year and a half and it's pretty much just... always been like that. I wish I could say otherwise but. No.

This feels a little more personal than sea monsters, cults, and indiscriminately cursed bread. The only thing I've witnessed that seems comparable are the nightmares caused by that avatar ADI's dubbed the Lullaby Girl, and I gather she did have a history with you.

My nightmare is always the same and the first time she brought it to visit it slaughtered all of my friends.

So, definitely a history.

Was it more controllable the second time around? Or did you opt out of that experiment with lucid dreaming?

The lucid dreaming was kind of hit and miss. But my friends knew better to run away. At least. The ones that were still here.

Well, at least the repetition had some benefit.

For what it's worth, you have my sympathies for the nightmares.

They did. But as far as I know, no one stumbled into them.

That’s lucky. These things tend to be designed to damage as large a swathe as possible.

So they say. But they're probably out to get us, so I'll take that with a grain of salt.

So did anything special prompt this post or just wondering out loud?

Just that the past two months have had people acting even more strange and aggressive than usual.

You mean like people who want to borrow your blood? Yeah. I've had that happen.

I'm honestly surprised they asked first.

Me too. But I was able to talk them down which was good but I did need a drink after.

Fair. I think something like that calls for several.

Usually the wisest course of action when faced with someone who's that close to the edge. It's hard to tell what will tip them over into violence.
