Don't know that I will but until I can find me (Open Catch-All for Feb)
Who: John Sheppard and You!
When: February
Where: Here and there
Summary: Some TDM prompts and monthly catch-all
Warnings: blood, knives, cutting, spiders again probably, auditory hallucinations, decay, rot, filth, mold, blood sacrifice, violence, possible self-harm and harm to animals, obsession, possession, codependency, altered mental states; stalking; unwanted romantic advances; toxic romantic relationships, possible discussion of cosmic horror; induced madness; fugue state; body horror; PTSD; disassociation; paranoia, supernatural compulsion
A. TDM Prompt: Arrhythmia - OTA
cw: blood; knives; cutting; spiders again probably; auditory hallucinations; decay; rot; filth; mold; blood sacrifice; violence; possible self-harm and harm to animals
It is the beating of his hideous heart!
[John's always enjoyed the Tell-Tale Heart. He much less enjoys it happening to himself in real-life, and turning his room into an unlivable, rotten mess. Admittedly, the aesthetic works with the creepy heartbeat, but he also likes his bed not being sunken and moldy, nor his things covered in dust, nor his foot slipping through crumbling floorboards, webs everywhere...
He's also had enough of spiders in his pants for a lifetime.
Waking up in actual rags was his breaking point. After managing to find intact clothing, he stumbles outside with a knife and casually asks the next person he runs across in the hallway of the apartments.]
I need your blood.
[He holds up a knife.
It's probably fine, coming from him especially.]
B. TDM Prompt: Love Potion Number 9 - Closed to Rodney McKay
cw: obsession; possession; codependency; altered mental states; stalking; unwanted romantic advances; toxic romantic relationships
[It's probably unfortunate that he brought the box of chocolates of with him while going to see Rodney, with a bright red RC car and its controller under his other arm. He doesn't think anything of it, really, though later on he will make a note to be more careful about free food around here. Again.
It's also probably unfortunate that he was already in love with the man before this happened, and his cat-like Hunt instincts already prompting him to be quite attached to him.
He knocks on Rodney's door, bored and having a bit of a sweet tooth, so he opens the chocolates (not that he was gonna give them away to him or anything) and pops one in his mouth. Then another. Then another.
Eh. He's had better chocolates.]
Rodney? You better be in there...
C. Open Prompts for around ADI - OTA
[John is still working on recovering from everything that happened in Dogtown and can be seen around ADI either working with Security, or Investigations.
Sometimes he can be found at the Gym, sparring with two Bantos Rods or at least the nearest equivalent he can find. He's never really been good with them but it reminds him of Teyla, who he dearly misses, and on the off-chance they make it back, he'd also like to win at least one match against her or Ronon.
He knows that's pretty much impossible, but at least he'd like to give it a good shot.
He can also be found at the Canteen sometimes, having a bite to eat (probably a turkey sandwich) or setting up a game of chess, or working on a Sudoku puzzle. If you're nearby and he has no takers on his chess game, he might try to coerce you into playing. Or just grab some checkers instead. Sometimes he'll have his back against the wall and his feet up on another chair playing with a Nintendo DS he found at a secondhand game shop.]
D. Wildcard - Anything goes!

There's a sudden crack of a gunshot, and she knows she can't keep lying here, but when she tries to move there's a sharp pain in her side.]
John? Rodney?
[Are they alright?
She forces herself to her knees, just as a bullet whizzes past her ear.
Grab the rifle and the flask and go. That's all she can think to do. She ducks behind one of the porch columns for cover and aims her rifle at the formerly dead man, doing her best to ignore the still-sharp pain and spreading wet warmth along her ribs.]
Drop the gun! [She doesn't want to kill or injure the man if she doesn't have to. So she'll give him one warning.]

And then everything goes to hell.
Suddenly there's gunshots and for a moment Rodney freezes, eyes wide, remembering last time - the sound traps, the bullets, the pain, bleeding out, and not again, this can't be happening again - and then John yells fall back and that's familiar enough to get through to him and get him to move.
He whirls around and grabs some debris as he rushes back out to the porch to find out what's happening. There's a startled yell when he almost runs into their attacker and he tries to swing at the corpse - oh God, it's the corpse shooting, there's an actual zombie - but it's fast and he misses.
It's what saves him because he falls down before the bullet can hit him in the back and then he's scrambling away from the zombie and into cover.]
What the hell just happened!? What did you do!?
no subject
[Well, it's probably not nothing. John ducks behind a tree trunk, starting to feel a little dizzy.]
Okay, he just seems a little pissed off that we took his flask, that's all!
[At least Rodney tried to hit the thing but it's too fast--how the hell can a corpse be that fast--]
We're dealing with a fast zombie that can shoot. Fantastic!
[The zombie, however, doesn't drop the gun. It doesn't listen to Caitlyn, and in fact, it starts...whistling.
...the song burrows into his mind, sending a chill down his spine. Somehow, he knows, deep down in his gut, that he's prey, and this is their hunter. It's so strange--it's like a fact he just knows is true, like how he knows gravity works and the sun comes out during the day. There's a terrible, all-encompassing instinct to run away, to retreat, and right now that seems really like a good idea.
Especially cause the zombie starts firing at them again, especially towards Caitlyn.
This is a disaster.
John ducks out from behind the tree, trying to shoot towards the zombie's head.
It does nothing. His eyes widen, and he starts staggering back, the world starting to spin. His legs are starting to buckle and he's going to allow himself one small look at where he was injured--
--oh.
--crap.
The red bloom has covered his shirt and jacket and the weakness is threatening to drag him down. He knows that he's got minutes--seconds, maybe, and considering how far they are from the entrance, and how much blood he's lost already, that even an ambulance isn't gonna save him. He doesn't know how he's still standing at this point--
There's no time to panic. No time to freak out. All he can do with the time left to him is to make sure that he gets them out of here.]
Fall back. [It's grittier. Strained. He doesn't think he can shout anymore.] Get to the bridge, we'll lose him at the river.

She sights along the barrel, readying herself to shoot, and... That's when the whistling starts.
It claws its way through her head and into pit of her stomach, and her feet are starting to move before she gives them any conscious command, the instinct to flee taking over.
She dashes towards the trees, finding cover near John.
There's blood on his shirt. Too much blood.]
Rodney, he's hurt, get him out of here! I'll cover you.
[It's not a person, she tells herself. It's just a thing, a target with a human face painted on. She takes a deep breath, steadying herself, trying not to hear the whistling that's screaming at her to run as far and fast as she can. It's the work of an instant to duck out from behind the tree, aim, and fire.
The bullet strikes the zombie directly between the eyes. Its head snaps back with the force of the shot, and for a moment, Caitlyn thinks she's killed it. But only for a moment. The next shot comes a fraction of a second later, and she feels splinters of tree bark hit her cheek as she ducks back behind the tree.]
Go!
[If it can't be killed, she can at least keep it occupied while John and Rodney get back across the bridge.]
