Log - OTA! - What’s the difference between a corpse and a shirt?

Where: A rented out bar, downtown.
Summary: The wake for George Milton.

If anyone of the forcibly kidnapped to Gloucester deserved to be remembered, it was George Milton. In many ways, he was the best of them. He had been kind. He had always been willing to help and lend a hand. Unlike some whose first choice was violence (because what else was there), he had chosen to forgo that route and had come up with a much more clever solution. The solution saved lives.

It had not felt right to have a formal service for him. To put it simply, he was not a formal person. And so after much calling around, a bar had been found where they could rent out the entire place before business got too busy. It was just for a couple of hours. People could come and say nice things about George. It's what he deserved after all.

So come on in, have a beer or two, and sit a spell. Maybe you'll feel like sharing a story about George or maybe you're just there to pay your respects. There's a break in the weather, the clouds only filling up half of the nighttime sky. No acid snow for tonight.

Manji just hums thoughtfully. "There's got to be a better way. It's not like I can get rid of my blood and you can't not eat."

"It's not easy, any way you slice it." She's not entirely sure how risky it would be to let the owlbeast get too restless, when she's at no power like this. But she doesn't really want to find out. Things went well, the few times here that it did take over in her normal body here--but she can't count on being that lucky again.

"But if there's a better way we're gonna need to find it for ourselves." She's still keeping her voice fairly low, but it's the sort of thing she's been meaning to talk to more people she feels she can trust about.

Normally Manji wouldn't try to lower his voice, but for her? He will this time. "Hm. Agreed, but if you want to be sneaky about it?" Considering she's lowering her voice right now? "Best not to include me. I've not made it any secret my disdain for how things work around here." He may already have a target on his back.

"Yeah... suppose you really haven't," Eda agrees. Which doesn't mean that she won't tell him if she finds anything important, but he's probably right that it's best not to look like they're too involved in anything together.

"Not that I'm their favourite person either." But at least she hasn't gotten in trouble recently. And she's planning to try and keep it that way, if only to make things easier for herself.

"If you were I would be asking who you were and what you've done with Eda." He says with a grin. "But there's a difference between not being well liked and actively antagonizing them. I've been fairly loud in my thoughts that they're shit at stopping the end of the world if they have to rely on our mess of a group to save them so often."

"Yeah, I guess I'm a little better at keeping my opinions to myself... which is saying something." It definitely wasn't one of her skills, but she was doing her best to stay on good enough terms with the ADI that she could watch them.

"The ADI has been helpful with some things so I'm fine with helping them for now. I don't really plan to start an uprising, but I'm not going to keep quiet about some of the bullshit they're keeping from us either."

"Don't get me wrong, I'm glad people are calling them out." After all, having the higher-ups think they could simply do whatever they wanted wasn't an idea she was fond of.

Her instinct was to be the one doing it herself, and if things were a little different she might have been the loudest voice. But the chance of trying to get home was too important.

"Then don't you worry. I won't go easy on them."
