[open network - video]
Who: Delloso de la Rue
Username: Rue
Warnings: n/a
[For their very first network appearance of this kind, Rue's feathery countenance exudes warmth, their big eyes unblinking while they graciously greet their audience. A small peony is tucked into their ear tuft of feathers.]
Hello dear friends. For those who I have yet to meet, my name is Delloso de la Rue and, as you can see for yourself, I am not very much not a human.
Though us non-humans have been made to wear a glamour outside of these halls, that does not fix the problem that most human retailers do not make clothing fit for our unique frames. Coming from a place most similar, I've spent the last few millennia creating my own outfits as the ones available to me rarely could fit either my wings or my stature.
So, Ms. Eda and I shall be working together to help supply custom clothing to any of those struggling to find attire that fits. For a small fee, I'm happy to design any number of outfits to help accommodate wings or a tail or whatever you may need. Truth be told, design is a passion of mine, so I'd be delighted to work with all of you to make something to your liking.
Please don't hesitate to reach out if you're interested. I'm looking forward to future collaborations!

Holy shit, you're gorgeous. Uh- yeah, thanks...here. I hope you like lime, it's kinda the best flavor ever but not everyone agrees.
[They're wrong, but still. For now, she holds the can out to Rue and steps into their place. She's dressed in what she arrived in, her cargo capris, combat boots, and the three-quarter-sleeve shirt...though the latter now sports dubiously rust-colored stains she couldn't get out.]
This might sound weird, but you're the most normal looking person I've seen here -I mean, super fancy and amazing- but like someone famous I might see at home or something. So...thanks? For being here?
[Yeah, that's weird. Way to go, Mae.]

I was just thinking the same of you! What beautiful eyes you have and such darling ears! You are stunning!
[Standing in the doorframe, they must look like the most hilarious pair. The bird looming over the cat, both in an absolute over the other.]
I am certain anything you've brought along that I will love. Thank you, my dear. Please, come sit down.
[Oh! It's definitely weird! But there's just no way that Rue's whole feathery countenance doesn't soften under such a compliment, already leading Mae towards a plush, owlbear-sized couch, an array of snacks set out in front of them.]
I must tell you, dear Mae, that is the very first time I've ever heard anyone call me normal looking. [But from their expression, the warmth pooling in their large, dark eyes, it's clear hearing it means so much to them, even as Rue makes a soft, hooting chuckle of a sound.]
I was very much the odd one out in my former court. But you come from a place where everyone looks like you and I? Incredible!

Uh- um...thanks. Not a lot of people like my eyes.
[Her included, but it's fine. This couch is nice and snacks are nice and Rue is nice, so she's just gonna breeze on past that. She settles in on her side of the couch and, after a second thought, kicks off her boots so she can turn and face Rue without getting her boots on the sofa.]
I mean, yeah. Everybody. Have you met that turtle guy here? He's apparently a 'mutated turtle' or whatever, but I knew a guy who looked a lot like him in college. You look like someone I'd see on T.V. sure, but still just a person even if you're royalty...or like a judge or something.
[Those were the only two options for 'court,' apparently.]

They follow after Mae, taking a chair near the sofa, so that their guest doesn't feel too crowded.]
Oh! That sounds truly incredible. I can't even imagine what such a place must be like. To walk around with ease and have things built for my own shape and size. [They give a gentle wave around their living room. It's fine enough, certainly, but Rue clearly had to push furniture right to the walls to give them enough space simply to walk through without bumping into corners and edges from all sides. And what about those tiny, weak human chairs!! Those are always an absolute no for Rue, even if they are all the owlbear can ever find in any restaurant or coffee shop.
It's just a struggle.]
I have met both of the turtle brothers! I didn't realize they were, ah, mutated. How strange! Did you arrive with anyone else from your home world?
