Who: John Sheppard
Username: Pegasus
Warnings: gun violence; blood; talk of severe injury/death; supernaturally induced violence/aggression; mention of violence to animals; spiders/spider-bites; swarms of bugs/spiders; cosmic horror; induced madness; fugue state; body horror; PTSD; disassociation; paranoia;
[John does not look well. Haunted is probably the best description of his entire...everything, or maybe it's because he's still recovering from his injuries.]
Update on the blood river situation--there's a bridge made out of spider-webs that apparently can hold your weight. The spiders get upset when you stop for any reason, so you need to make it across fast.
Me and Rodney didn't exactly make it to the mystery building across the way, though. We had to stop for the night and--
--don't do that. Whatever you do, do not stay there overnight. It--
[He seems to be struggling to describe it. Something goes vacant in his eyes and threatens to take him back to that moment and he really can't be doing that on video, so he takes a deep breath and tries to calm down.]
Whatever is--there, whatever Dogtown is, it's-- [He can't describe it. How can he describe it?] --we shouldn't be there. They were angry at us. But there's something in that building across the river, I just know it. Maybe it's the answer to all of this.
[You know that thing about the Hunt where it's a fear that can manifest as obsession with pursuing a goal, chasing after something that can never be reached, and destroying yourself and everything you know and love in the process? That's it, that's what's happening.]

[She pauses, then sighs.]
Of course, if that part of Dogtown does open onto a different dimension, we may have even bigger problems.
no subject
[He rubs at his eyes, as if he was trying to wipe the memory away.]
You can’t understand them. Can’t bear them. If they’re really here the only thing you can do is get away.
no subject
[She studies the screen for a moment.]
Are you all right? After all of that.
no subject
[He goes quiet a moment.]
No. I’d like to say I’ll be okay but…y’know. Telling the future isn’t a talent of mine.
no subject
[She gives him a quick smile.]
I don't usually recommend the counsellors here, but they might be able to help. They're probably used to talking people through exposure to things humankind wasn't meant to know.
no subject
[That’s just what they need, some new thing to curse them all again.]
I guess. I’m not really…good at talking about this kind of thing.
[You know. Feelings.]
Maybe I’ll stop by.
no subject
No one's good at talking about this kind of thing.
no subject
That does make me feel marginally better.
You've been here longer than I have, does any of that sound familiar to you? Have other people encountered anything similar to what we experienced? [The Stars, anything that happened in Dogtown...]

[She pauses a moment.]
But that isn't exactly strange. Dogtown is like its own little hell. It is always terrible, always changing - sometimes, you can go back to exactly where you found something before, and there will be no trace of it. It's like it's designed not to make any sense.
