For those of you who are capable of following the scientific theory, I hope you engaged thoughtfully in the observation step when you arrived. For those of you who cannot or will not, may Feynman have mercy on your particles.

My query: when you arrived here, where was it? With whom? In what physical state? I need data. No matter how mundane or unremarkable your experiences or their retelling may be, I must hear them. Scientific advancement demands it.



As an aside, how does an echo 'hear' something? Please explain.

A little bit, I can tell when he's annoyed genuinely.

Have you talked to him about maybe not acting like a pinhead when he asks for information? He'll get less flak if he asks nicely.

I mean, we can talk to him all we want, but he's gonna do things anyway. Small talk isn't really his thing so much as it is mine, he prefers the direct approach.

[And sometimes the direct approach is rude as hell but it gets things done.]

Has he considered letting you take point, then? If you're the 'face' of the two of you, mate, might be for the best.

Oh, constantly.

But when it comes to science and group data collection and all that, that's more his wheelhouse and there's no talking him out of it. I dunno what he's talking about half the time.

Yeah, I get that. I dunno what it is about him, but that sort of thing's really bothering me right now. Maybe I need another coffee before I deal with him. I'm just tired of blokes bowling in making snide little comments about people and then going on to ask for things from them. I'd have to look up who Feynman is, and a lot of people who got dropped in here were coming off of serious situations. Some are close to death. It's just-just a pinheaded thing to say. Snarky because not everyone's as clever or composed as he might be.

I understand completely. But sometimes you're sixteen and you're focused on wanting the results without thinking about the repercussions or what you may need after because the people get lost in the situation. Which, unfortunately, Don here's a little prone to. There's also usually four of us that helps even it out and there are only so many social fires I can put out at once around him. He'll come around, he's just out of his element and trying to get what he can so he'll feel comfortable and settle down soon. Cannot even imagine how much worse he'd be if I hadn't gotten here first to give him the basic rundown.
