Right then.

After everything that happened in October, and the utter lunacy last Thursday, what are the odds that we'll see more holiday-themed horror in December?

If we're going to be dealing with a demonically imbued Krampus, I'd like to know in advance.

[Mostly so he can make plans to be elsewhere, but also because the theming of Gloucester's supernatural nightmares is a little bit fascinating.]

I used to think the scariest thing about Christmas was not knowing what to get someone or being forced to talk to that one family member who isn't quite right in the head. Then I arrived in Gloucester.

I suppose that's one thing that can be said for this place. It does tend to put things in perspective.

The entire Santa Claus operation always has seemed a little sinister.

Well, I never much liked Christmas, anyway.
Got kidnapped by some robot Santas one year.
That was exciting.
And horrible.

We had a woman who pulled people into nightmares, and was apparently a repeat visitor from last year, and a baker driven to self-destructive obsession by haunted tombstones.

Thank you, dear Adam. I'm still new to this form of communication and I sometimes forget the names that appear may not be true. My apologies.

As for the rest, well, to put it most plainly, fuck.

And these kinds of events happen frequently, do they not? How are we to prepare for them?

It's true, [It isn't.] it's just my last name. Bit more formal than we need to be, considering we're all in this together.

I don't think more than a week or two has gone by without some kind of trouble since I got here. As for preparing, there are a few people who make somewhat regular reports, and Donna's been working on something of a timeline of horrors. Those would be good places to start, if you're looking for a better idea of what to prepare for.

Truly, we all are depending on one another while we are here. How right you are.

Thank you. I'll have to acquaint myself with Donna and educate myself more on what to expect. I only hope that whatever the coming months brings for you, that it is far kinder than the previous.

Out of wild curiosity, are the holiday horrors a year-round thing, or is it just the last quarter of the year where they adopt a theme? I've looked through the files that haven't been redacted, but I expect things look different from the ground than they do in text.

They're pretty non-stop. For all the holidays in a calendar year, you could name a horror that's gone along with it.

But did you have a specially tailored horror?

Knowing whether they attach themselves to various folktales and festivals like parasites, or the overlap is just a manifestation of the cultural background of the avatars and cultists might help with predicting what form the next disaster could take.
