One very belated log
Who: Cortana and you (Plus closed prompt for Winter)
When: Early to mid October
Where: ADI headquarters and throughout town
Summary: Work, robot stuff, double stuff
Warnings: Gaslighting in the second to last and Animal Cruelty in the last prompt
A) (Closed to Winter)
Tony has been a huge help-she doubts that she could get any of this done even half as fast without him-but he's definitely not the best person to help with the kind of test she currently has in mind.
Hence her asking Winter instead.
She'll already be waiting at the door by the time he gets to the apartment, AI impatience making her eager to get things started. The arm-currently not connected to any sort of body-is already set up, the project taking up a chunk of the space normally dedicated to Tony's 'workshop'.
"Hey."
B)
She might be fundamentally altering the nature of her existence in this reality, but she's still gotta work, and that means teaching cybersecurity class. New to this world? Feel like you need a refresher? Cortana's got you covered, apparently.
She's wearing clothes-a green sweater vest over a white blouse with cream colored pants-for once as she steps into the classroom, introduces herself, and begins to go through the basics of using the phones. Not that that helps her look any more normal: kind of hard to hide the fact that she's made entirely of glowing blue light.
But are you brave enough (or rude enough) to actually bring up her appearance?
C) (CW: Gaslighting)
"Yer not welcome here, lady."
Isn't the reception Cortana is expecting when she hangs out in the outdoor area of a local cafe. Nor is she expecting the accusations that follow: that she had thrown hot coffee in a customer's face and made multiple baristas cry.
She hasn't even been to this place this month! But her protests to this effect only worsen the situation, bringing heated anger and accusations of lying. She can't get away with this, they have cameras, if she really forgot then there's clearly something wrong with her-
She's getting increasingly frantic and distressed-how did this happen, what's going on, is she going rampant again is-
The coffeshop owner has had enough of this strange woman and her antics and Cortana finds herself escorted out through the gate surrounding the outdoor seating and left there to her escalating panic.
"And don’t you be coming back!"
D) (CW: animal mistreatment)
And the one responsible for terrorizing Cortana (and everyone else) in such a way is having a grand time, actually. She avoids the ADI grounds themselves but has no qualms getting quite close otherwise-knowledge of her original’s schedule makes avoiding her a simple matter-and it isn’t unlikely that people familiar with the real Cortana will see her wandering around. Not that this is likely to actually raise any sort of alarm. The double is physically indistinguishable from her ‘real’, self. In fact, one might even find themselves pleased to see Cortana without that subtle sadness that so often clings to her.
Taking a deep breath of the crisp air, the double stops to wait at a crosswalk next to a woman walking her dog… and with a suddenly devious grin, kicks the animal in question hard enough to draw out a yelp.

Well yeah, it probably would hurt him with actual strength behind it. He's made of flesh, it's made of metal and plastic, not hard to guess which material is more likely to win out. Also, it's heavy.
Cortana will allow Winter a minute to look at the arm while she gets her flash drive and prepares herself for becoming an arm, a process that mostly involves stripping off the oversized T-shirt that's currently all she's wearing and setting it aside since she's not going to be projecting a physical body for at least part of this. She could, technically, but it would take more 'fear juice' than she's actually willing to waste.
The point of this is, after all, to eventually not need fear anymore at all.
...Something that she will probably babble about as she gets set up, along with a bunch of incredibly nerdy technical stuff having to do with the specs and capabilities and what might be possible in the future with this robot body she (and Tony) have been working on.

The fear part he understands the most. "How much power does it take just to be you?" he asks. "You don't. Seem very scary, as yourself." He's not sure if he ought to add "no offense" to that or not. He's not sure if she means to be scary.

It won't take her too long to finish getting things set up. She turns to Winter again.
"It doesn't take much to survive, but the hunger doesn't go away, even when I'm not using any special abilities." This isn't actually entirely true, she just doesn't realize that the default speed of her thoughts also counts as an ability.
"Ready to try?" She gestures at the arm then grabs her flash drive. The arm is currently attached to a base for testing, and there's a slot there for inserting her drive, though she doesn't put it in quite yet.

"What happened? Why did this man do this?"

"Hey Katrina." She glances back at the coffeeshop. "Have you had any problems with people accusing you of things you don't remember doing? Because apparently I've been harassing both the guests and the baristas despite not having been here for a month." She tries to play it cool, like it's merely annoying and not deeply worrying, but her greeting lacks it's usual perkiness, and there's not much curiosity in her question.
The latter especially should be notable - Katrina has been teaching her a new language, she should know by now that Cortana is both extremely clever and absolutely insatiably hungry for information.

"I have not. And I know you do not do these things."
It does, however, sound like something that would happen in Gloucester, or in this world.
"It is... a trick. A thing to make you feel fear." It must be. "He is sure it is you?"

How many people had she killed again? 8 million? 10? With all the glassing, the resettlement, the people who lived away from the UNSC in secret... it was impossible to have a truly accurate population count for the worlds she destroyed.
And that was just for the Humans.

"Come. We will go somewhere else. Somewhere that people know you are not doing these bad things."

She turns away from the shop, and sighs. "We could try another coffeeshop, but I'm not really interested anymore. It's not like I can actually drink coffee."
