Raine's forehead was beaded in sweat, their head tossing and turning too and fro on their pillow as they struggled to keep their wits about them in their dreaming state. Hands bunched up in the sheets covering them. They were mouthing something wordlessly in desperation, only making pitifully soft, sad sounds.

As Eda walked in and put a hand on their shoulder Raine's eyes snapped open and they launched upright in the bed. Their hand grasping her wrist as they stared her down. For a brief terrifying moment their eyes were glowing. Bright and feral as their whistling wheezes seemed to hiss and shriek around the room like the soft cries of a banshee. Things in the room seemed to rattle and lift slightly with the panic noises they were making.

Then, they blinked. Once .. twice.. And things began to settle. Raine let go of Eda's hand and stared her down as the maroon-red bardic glow began to die down into their normal green hue.

"Eda-" They started but it choked up fast and they lurched forwards, arms wrapping around her and burying their face in her shoulder, but there were no fangs this time. "It was horrible- a nightmare, a terrible nightmare and I couldn't stop it.."
