[Caitlyn speaks quickly and eagerly as she shows off a large map of Gloucester pinned to her bedroom wall with variously colored thumbtacks. Pinned around it are all sorts of papers, covered in borderline-illegible scribblings in red and black ink, and polaroid photos, some of which have been drawn on. The whole thing is criss-crossed in red yarn.

As the camera pans around, you can see that her bed is immaculately made but the floor is a mess of papers, books, and notepads. Some of the mess has probably started spilling out into the hallway. Sorry, Donna and Callisto.]

I've been trying to document all of the supernatural goings-on in Gloucester. At least the ones I'm aware of. I've noted approximate locations, dates and times, and which Entities could be implicated by each. The more information I collect, the likelier it is I'll be able to deduce a pattern.

[She points to a red thumbtack pinned near two blue thumbtacks.]

At the moment, I'm particularly interested in the phenomenon that's resulted in certain people being trapped in various cameras around town. Here I've noted the camera I found myself looking through when it happened to me, and [She taps the two blue thumbtacks.] where I was each time it occurred.

If I can compile enough data, it may be possible to ascertain a source. Or perhaps what, if anything, has been triggering certain people to become stuck in the cameras. I would certainly appreciate any information any of you could share.

[It takes her a moment to get it, but once she does it earns a chuckle.

The next morning, she's up bright and early, armed with a folded copy of the map, two different colored pens, and a notebook. She's waiting for Garner in the spot she specified, a solid fifteen or more minutes before 9 o'clock.

A few people glance at her curiously, probably wondering why this very tall, very neatly dressed woman with absurdly straight posture and dark blue hair is just standing at a random spot on the sidewalk clutching a notebook and a folded map to her chest, but she does her best to ignore them, simply standing and waiting and drumming her fingertips against the notebook as she scans the crowd for Garner.]

[He arrives a handful of minutes early, more from timing than specific intent and the firs thing he notices is the sound of her fidgeting. She's...tall, the way she shifts is the build of someone on the taller side, though she sounds likely still shorter than he is by a few inches. The scent of her soaps and shampoos reach him next and his smile is small but gentle. At least she smelled nice.]

Good morning, Caitlyn.

[He greets, his voice low and soft and accented while his sightless eyes fall lower than her face.]

Do we have a pattern we intend to follow?

[Caitlyn greets Garner with a small wave before realizing that he probably can't see it. She's not even sure how he recognized her at all, and she knows it would likely be rude to ask.]

Garner! Yes. Good morning. [The smile is certainly audible in her voice. She's excited to be working, and to be doing so with someone who seems both pleasant and equally interested in the work.]

I've attempted to recreate what I was doing at the time the phenomenon occurred with no luck. But perhaps if we visit each of the sites where it happened, we may notice some sort of pattern. [She considers for a moment. She's not used to working with a partner.] Have you got any suggestions?

[He's done more than a bit of digging since they talked in various subjects for preparation, and he pulls out his phone to tell it to open the notes section. He turns the screen in her direction to show.]

I was tracing the angles between some of the points I knew of, you have the grander picture and the sight to see it, but I thought perhaps if there was a line to be found...perhaps as the bird flies, rather than a person walking, we might identify some locations to start. These are coordinates that seemed promising.

[There's only three listed, but his information was only a piece of hers, hopefully it would give them a start.]

I couldn't help wondering if the source might move, if area of effect is too irregular.

[Caitlyn carefully observes the screen, noting the locations on her map.]

Yes, this is excellent.

[She starts to draw a few lines on the map. She's sure there's a shape beginning to form, but she can't quite make out what it is yet.]

If the source is moving, we'll likely need more data than we have to figure out how and where it's moving, but perhaps if we can get that data we'll be able to predict where the next instance will occur.

[That's an exciting thought.

She reads out the first of set coordinates.] Let's start there, it's closest.

Sounds fair.

[He lets her take the lead, certain in his directional sense, but it was always easier to listen for hazards on their path if he's focusing on the sound of another's steps.]

If this does not work as intended, I had another theory, though it is much harder to prove or replicate accurately. If this is to do with the Eye, as I would guess due to the nature of watching, perhaps the source is on the look out for a particular mindset. I confess, I don't recall exactly what I was thinking or how I was feeling at the time, but if the aim is fear, perhaps that is the point: a target completely unsuspecting.

[Which would, unfortunately, rule them out, but it was worth mentioning.]

That's a possibility. I suppose any ADI employee wouldn't be entirely unsuspecting, but it's too early to rule out any theories.

[She pauses, trying to recall what she herself had been thinking of.]

During one of the incidents, I'd gone on a walk to clear my head, as I was frustrated with my inability to make progress in my investigations. During the other... I don't remember. I know I was planning on purchasing film for my camera.

[He nods.]

Clearing my head or having some peace to think is usually the aims of my walks, now that I've become familiar with the streets themselves.

Do you often take pictures of things? And....not with your phone?

[He hadn't even known there were cameras separate from phones until recently, but it sounded interesting.]

Oh! Yes. [She reaches into her bag to pull out her polaroid camera.]

I didn't even know about phones until I arrived in this world. The cameras I'm used to are more like this. You push a button and it creates a physical photograph.

[She holds it out to him, in case he wants to inspect it.]

I've always found photographs extremely helpful when I'm trying to piece together clues. I take a lot of them.

He takes the thing she seems to offer him and his fingers trace over the edges, the button, the lens, until he has a decent measure of it's dimensions, then nods and offers it back.

"If it provides you with a physical representation of the image, I can understand how that would be useful. Working through a problem with touch can be very useful, even if you cannot touch the image directly, it is another avenue of memory. That is clever."

He pauses in that thought as something else occurs to him. "Did you often solve mysteries back home? Were you a guard or...police?"

Caitlyn returns the camera to her bag.

"We call them enforcers, but yes, I was a police officer." She huffs softly. "I was not, strictly speaking, a detective. The sheriff preferred to relegate me to guard duty." In hindsight, it makes perfect sense that the man in the pocket of an undercity crime lord would not want her investigating undercity crime.

"I often had to conduct my investigations on my own time. It's rather refreshing that ADI allows me to investigate as I please."
