There's a limited amount of published material when you're dealing with the Entities considering the vast majority of people who know about them are serving them... and the rest tend to end up... well, hopefully they're dead.

If these things are old there'll be accounts going further back, there always is. Actual accounts, not something written from hysteria or wanting to write something.

They do. The vast majority of them won't seem like anything other than hysterical ramblings, or accounts of... different things. It's not so straightforward to tell whether something is an account of encountering one of the entities, or some ancient cult.

Sometimes a murder is just a murder, nothing supernatural about it. The fear it generates may still feed the entity passively, but it isn't caused by the entity.
Not every skydiving accident is an experience related to the Vast, and not every death to disease is caused by the Corruption.
