"Yeah. You're in a place filled with humans." And he is, very clearly, not one. "We're not gonna hurt you, but you- well, you sort of just fell through a few dimensions. If you know what those are. Planes? ... Space/time? Anyway, you really look like you're not in a good way."

Apart from the tea staining their clothes. "My name's Donna. I just- I think we should get you somewhere they can help if you collapse, all right? What's your name?"

A place.. filled with humans? Then she went on about- about falling through dimensions, space and time and.. Their head spun. They looked back down over their arm, the lights gone. Raine's face scrunched up and they braced against the desk next to them. The bard then forced themselves to kneel before pushing up on their feet.

Raine staggered as they spoke. "I'm- I'm..Raine.." They narrowed their eyes at her as they took an uneasy step back. They thought of Belos and.. who he really was, what just happened. "How do you know that? That I- I supposedly fell through dimensions?"

Curse you, DW! /shakes fist

"Well, it's what happened to me half a year ago. So, I could be off the mark, but considering you're not the first and probably not the last? Yeah, seems likely."

She wanted to try to guide them toward medical, but given she'd just doused them in tea and they seemed understandably wary, she refrained for the moment. "Lot of folks turn up here like that. Just bad luck you ended up near my desk... sorry about the tea. I really thought you were gonna explode, the way you looked."

Not the first..? Raine couldn't parse if she was telling the truth or not, honestly. Nothing about this made any sense, even less so than usual all things considered. Yet they listened along anyways to try and make heads or tails of the whole situation.

They looked down at their arm again before up at Donna, eyes still narrowed warily. "I.. can't refute that, exactly but.." They were starting to buy into it, though they wanted to get some answers before blindly following this person. "Is this the human realm..? Where is here exactly? And- and for that matter why have people been showing up like this?"

"I'm pretty sure there's only a human realm here, mate. It's- D'you know anything about America?" The conversation needed to start small if they were going to figure out a way to convince him to just come along before someone summoned the guards to drag them off to orientation. They could get to the why once they had a few basics settled.

"..America?" They looked completely lost here. Their eyes scanning past her around the room, almost anxiously and frantically. They were.. admittedly, trying to clock a way out if necessary. But for now.. they'd bite. "Is that what you call this place?" It was the most logical assumption to them at the moment.

"No, it's like... like a country?" God, did they have countries where this person was from? "This is the Apocalypse Disruption Initiative. Or Apex Detectives, Inc. Either way, it's ADI. The headquarters for the organizations. We're in a building in the city of Gloucester. State of Massachusetts. Country of the United States of America... On a planet called Earth?"

Hopefully one of those would mean something.

Raine unfortunately did not seem to understand anything Donna was saying. Their expression only getting more frustrated and lost the more she tried to explain. "I have.. no idea what you're talking about-" Then they blinked. Replaying what she said in their mind, before staggering as they lurched forwards a bit towards her.

They weren't trying to startle her.. just, it seems something did click afterall. "You said- You said this is an Apocalypse- Distruption Initiative? What does that mean?" They went on with an almost.. rising sense of delirious urgency.

They lurched forward, and Donna took a step back to match, not a little bit alarmed. "Hey. Calm down. It means what I said. They--we now, I guess--stop apocalypses. There're these... Entity things? Horrible eldritch aliens creatures that feed on fear. Everyone here tries to stop them doing that. And, like... trying to take over the world so they can do more of it?"

She made a so-so gesture. "Bit hazy on what their actual plan is if they manage. I mean, there's one that's all about slaughter, so you'd think they'd kill everyone off pretty quickly and lose any fear they wanted to feed on."
