Network - 05 (Player Plot - Let's Fix Up Bonnie's Place)
Who: Mercy Graves
Username: mercyme
Warnings: potential discussion of fantasy racism
What: Starting up a Player Plot to fix up Bonnie's Flophouse. Let's give everyone nicer housing!
To the Gentlefolk of Other Worlds,
We have proved our mettle in Wolf Pen and returned home in both triumph to overcome a great evil, and grief for what was lost, despite our best efforts otherwise. For Sradans, my people, this is a feeling we know well. We name it the Living Haunt, for the memories will be with us until we are laid beneath the quiet soil and know our final rest. I pray that those who were lost in those distant mountains may find their ways to their gods, and know what peace and joy the Endless Sleep may bring. And that their bodies may bring life to the soil to feed those they loved.
But as they rest, we move on with our Living Haunt. Mine rests heavy, but that is not without its merits, for it is a motivating force. In Wolf Pen, we made a home for one family. Here in Gloucester, there is a home for many that is in equally poor repair, one that some of our own people set their boots aside in.
I speak of Bonnie's flophouse. I have spoken with her, and she has agreed to allow repair efforts at her property if I organize these efforts and attend to the costs. I am one woman. I can do what it is in me to, but no more. I would beg assistance from the rest of our number. There is much good to be done with ADI in defending this world against threats beyond our imagining. But cold and rain and hunger are great dangers to the common folk. We could help with this.
As a Sister of the Spring Tide, it is my duty to do so. I will be assembling equipment to begin repairs first on the roof and on the exterior of the building. For nothing can be accomplished fully until we know our efforts will not be washed away with the next storm.
Who would join me? I ask for your expertise, your time, and whatever funds you can contribute.
May the spring bring life to you and yours,
Mercy Graves

I don't got much funds yet. I can buy some tools and supplies.
I got roofing experience and carpentry.
I like what you said about them that died.
That was real true spoke.

[It's frustrating she's supposed to be a sister of that order, more than a year with it, technically, and she still barely knows what's what. Everything is from memory and what they'd told her back at the abbey.]
Your experience would be most welcome, in any case, even without the rest of the assistance. There are a few who have no learning in such things. I think we could all benefit from a teacher. I could, myself. Have you worked with the tiles they have in this time? They are very strange to me. My home's roof has always been thatched straw. And it was Colm who did most of the mending for it with Papa.

I don't mind teaching it. It ain't hard to learn.
Biggest thing is having a head for heights or not.
Anybody who don't shouldn't go up there.

That is an excellent consideration, given... all that some have seen here. I do not think we have had any problems with heights, yet? Some sense of vertigo, but nothing supernatural specifically with falling. I have not, I do not believe.

Some folks won't know they got a problem
until theys up their.
We'll just help them down and
try the next group.
Probly be best to do it in teams.
One person on the ladder who knows
what he's doing and one person
on the roof the same.
Send people up one at a time.
They pass that test then we can
talk shingles.

Looking forward to it.
