LOG - July Catch-All/TDM Prompts (OPEN)

Who: Neal and VARIOUS PEOPLE, POSSIBLY INCLUDING YOU?

Summary: TDM prompts, as well as some other stuff, will get more specific as I write them.
Warnings: Nothing big at the moment tho lord knows that's bound to change. Scopophobia, paranoia, the issues mentioned in the TDM prompts.

Neal lifts one shoulder in a half-shrug. “I’ve been trying to make a point of knowing who’s around. Who’s like us.”

That last bit is said with a bleaker tone than he intends. Neal clears his throat. “The way people come and go, I like being able to tell if I haven’t seen someone in a while. And who they are.”

"Like us? People dragged in from other worlds, you mean?" Or something more sinister?

Or just people working for ADI?

"Ah, that does make sense. Hopefully they just end up where they were before." Does he believe that?

Absolutely not. Nothing with the entities is ever that kind.

"Yeah. Other worlds." Neal's brows twitch together a moment. What else would... Oh. "Are you... do you have magic? Or... something like it?"

He doesn't say anything at the hopefully. He'd like to believe that, too. He also absolutely doesn't. He does believe, forces himself to believe, that the people who have vanished can be found.

"No," Jon lies. Well, depends if you can call being bound to the Eye magic. "No magic. I just meant... people who know about the entities, the avatars and the like. It's a lot to take in."

“Oh. Yeah. Yeah, it is.” He looks up at the nearest half-finished barrier. “There was nothing like them in my world. Not that I knew about, anyway, and I’d been to a lot of strange places.”

"It seems like there are a few worlds like that. Either without any kind of magic, or with it so deeply buried it's hard to find if you don't know exactly what you're looking for."

He wishes he'd never found the dubious magic in his own world.

"What about you? What's your flavor of reality?" He smiles a little crookedly at his own phrasing, but the smile fades again when he catches another set of watching birds.

"Oh you know, mundane for the most part. There are some supernatural things, artefacts mainly, but no magic, no werewolves or anything like that."

He glances towards the birds, narrows his eyes at them. Are they really going to try to out-stare him?
