Who: Edalyn Clawthorne and Cortana
When: Mid-May
Where: ADI Headquarters
Summary: Eda's having a bad day and hates school, this may or may not change.
Warnings: Alcohol/being slightly drunk
Eda would have rather been almost literally anywhere else than any version of school, just on principle. That went double today, when she’d tried to blow this computer thing off. Sure, maybe learning more about the Human Realm was important, it could at least be useful, but right now it was hard to care. It was hard to care about anything right now. Anything except the fact she was here, at least. Here, and not where she desperately needed to be, which was home. And now she'd officially been here too long.
Unfortunately, trying to blow off the class hadn’t gone over well with the staff here, and she currently couldn’t even set their hair on fire to show how she felt about them. She could barely do anything, which wasn’t helping matters.
What had she been doing before they’d managed to find her? Well, the faint whiff of cheap apple flavored vodka would tend to imply she was dealing with her problems in a completely healthy manner.
Eda was currently sprawling back in her seat, chin resting on one of her hands as she idly traced some sort of patterns onto the arm of her chair with a long gold nail. She would have looked like a bored, petulant teenager if she didn’t actually look like a middle aged woman who had just stepped out of a renaissance fair, complete with historically inaccurate dress and pointy ears.
She was actively ignoring everyone else in class–there seemed to still be a few people filing in–and waiting for whoever was supposed to be teaching. The sooner this thing started the sooner she could leave, hopefully.

And she'll take a moment to show Eda, and also the class, some downright disturbingly effective methods of searching for people with relatively little information to go on.

While there appear to be a few people with the right name, none seem to be right age, or vets, or have kids that she knows. She grumbles something under her breath, likely just swearing. A little part of her is glad she doesn't have to figure out what to say... but she's still not happy.
Her attention will probably start to drift again.

"Despite having a lot of similarities with what many of us would consider to be normal 21st century Earth, this is a different world. History, locations, brands, and even popular culture might be the same as at home but none of the people are. A few people have even looked for alternate versions of themselves here, but no dice."
It might be more explanation than Eda wanted, and it's not her area of expertise (she's from a different planet 500 years in the future) but there you have it.
"Anyone else got any questions?"

As another student asks a question she yawns and props her feet on her desk, sprawling back in her chair so it balances on the back two legs. She's still messing with her phone, but likely to look at photos of cats.

Still though, she's got a class to teach, so she'll leave Eda alone again and get back to lessons. Rather interesting lessons-Eda might catch snippets of a story about stealing a spaceship right from under the enemies nose by hacking its systems.

It doesn't matter, not really, not in practice, not compared to what's going on in hers.
Her attention drifts in and out after that, and she tunes back in briefly for the spaceship heist.
