[ She's too snobby to pick a dive bar or someplace that like. However, she could be dragged to one. ]

[ Kate stop talking. You're a lightweight who is going to get in trouble. ]
Oh. I'm not saint. I just want to have a good evening. I think we all deserve one.

I've got the place. I was thinking the next Tuesday.
[ Okay. That inspires a lot of questions but those questions might put a damper on things. For example, who had Katrina been socializing with before? ]
That sounds great, the more the merrier.

Yeah, alright. I'm down. Though I think we should hurry if that's the time limit we're dealing with. And by hurry I mean sprint.

[Is Yelena messaging her roommate? No, of course not. She's just calling over from where she's curled up in the corner of the couch, going over some notes in her cramped shorthand.]
[action'ish]
Good. I was going to drag you kicking and screaming otherwise.
no subject
[She's grinning as she says it.]
Where are you thinking we'll start?
no subject
[ Ha ha. As funny as the thought is, Kate knows Yelena could drop her quicker than a heart attack should she try. ]
I don't know. There's a new bar that opened called twenty-one and cup. Maybe there. Unless you know of a place.
no subject
[She's probably not going to get so drunk she needs to be carried, and even if she does, the chance of anyone else being any more sober is...slim.
The mental image, however, remains delightful.]
I don't think the places I know are to your taste. [Because Yelena? Definitely a fan of dive bars.] But that sounds good. They should have fun drinks, with a name like that.
no subject
[ The mental image is funny. But in all seriousness, Kate knows that she will need to monitor her drink intake. She doesn't want a repeat of the bonfire. She doesn't want to be guided home. ]
Are you saying I'm a snob, Yelena? [ Because she is! ] Look. I just like it when I can tell the place has been cleaned once and a while.
[ The Narration assures that the drink names will be punny. ] I hope so but we'll see unless someone else has a better place to start.
no subject
[So, a snob, but y'know, nicely.
She uncoils from the couch, and strolls over to start making coffee. It's always time for coffee.]
Somewhere new is a good place to start. We can scope it out while we still care if the drinks are good, not just strong.
no subject
Thank you, Yelena.
[ Coffee is always welcome! ]
Well, where would you start? I mean we'll have to take a bus regardless so having some other destinations in mind will help me plan.
[ Is she really going to plan drunken shenanigans? All signs point towards yes. ]
no subject
I would probably start with the Crow's Nest.
no subject
[ The name alone sounds dubious. ]
no subject
[Yelena gives Kate a quick grin over her shoulder before turning back to the coffee machine.
Making coffee is an intensive process, okay?]
Besides, I know better than to stay until morning.
no subject
[ Yelena's version is a much darker answer than Kate's. ]
I'll put it on the list.
[ At the bottom of said list. ]
Are you making a whole pot?
[ Coffee making is serious business. Especially if you want it to be good! ]
no subject
[The machine rumbles to life, and Yelena turns to rest her elbows on the counter while she waits for it to finish its soul-sustaining alchemy.]
You know we're going to have a chaperone, right?
no subject
[ For the coffee! ]
Who do you mean? Winter? I mean, we'll probably need at least one designated sober person.
no subject
I don't think he will actually come inside any bars unless he is forced to, but I also don't think he would be happy letting us both go off and get into trouble on our own. Not with everything Gloucester has chosen to be the last few months.
no subject
[ Would she ever call Winter sweet to his face. Maybe. Maybe not. It depends! She knows he'd feel awkward about it. The goal is to get Winter to be less awkward.
Kate gets up to join Yelena in the kitchen. She can smell the coffee already. ]
Should we pretend that we don't notice him or...
no subject
I don't think most of us will have to pretend.
[She would, if there were a reason not to acknowledge their mutual protector's presence, but for an evening on the town?
No reason to pretend. Anyone who might be deterred by the Winter Soldier is probably someone they want to be deterred.]
no subject
[ Or maybe she'll see him. She is trying to be more observant. ]
I suppose it'll be nice to have at least one designated sober person.
no subject
[As...much as she ever lets her guard down, anyways.
She considers for a moment, then grins.]
We could make a game of it. Seeing who spots him.
no subject
[ But what? ]
Whoever spots him first, the others buy them a shot?
no subject
[And a good way to get drunk, which makes it even better.]
And you're right, we should. Just nothing too startling.
no subject
[ She laughs a little because the idea is hysterical. It's like Where's Waldo but more fun because alcohol is involved. ]
I could make him brownies and let him lick the bowl after.
[ It's a shame she doesn't know how much Winter enjoys baths. She could get him bath bombs. ]</small.

(She can't drink, but she could be the designated driver ...or something! She's curious, come on.)

Yes. All ladies are welcome.
[ Kate is going to need a designated something by the end of it. ]

(She'll be there.)

What do you do at a ladies night?

[Beau, no.]
I'm not talking like, breaking someone's arm or anything.
no subject
I don't want to get into a bar brawl our first night out.
no subject
[Boooo. Not as fun as she wanted it to be. She absolutely needs to talk to Yelena.]
I'm capable of not being drunk and violent. Even at the same time.
no subject
I'm glad to hear it. I'm sure you'll have fun all the same.
