"It seems that way. Can't say I wouldn't rather be back home with my own problems, but I guess that depends on where you're coming from, right?"
And Winter's home sounds...pretty messed up really. So far, Chester doesn't mind this place, necessarily, but the lack of his people is really grating. He can't stop thinking about them, how they're doing without him, what problems he can't be there to lead them through. At least it had seemed relatively calm when he left...
Winter doesn't have any people where he comes from that he misses. They are, one and all, terrible. Or better off without him. Or both.
He frowns at the question. "A lot like this one. Actually. From 2014. Only HYDRA isn't here, I can't find any sign of them. And there's magic fear entities instead. My world doesn't have magic. Alien shit, maybe, but not magic."
The explanation about the world being pretty similar is a little surprising. Considering what Winter had told him earlier about HYDRA, he hadn't thought that that it would be a lot like this place. Surely stuff like that doesn't happen back home, or here.
"Mine's pretty similar to here too, in some ways. The magic fear entities aren't so much a thing, but there's supernatural stuff going on, not always as creepy as the stuff here, but it happens. It's magic though, a lot of it. Witches. Banshees, dryads, necromancers, that kind of thing."
"I don't know what most of those things are," Winter points out, not with annoyance. There might be something to his tone that suggests Chester give him more details. It might be useful, honestly; some of what's been showing up has similarities to Earth myth, after all.
"None of them? Wow. Guess I've got some explaining to do." he says, his expression warm, and he stretches his arms a little, taking a few deep breaths.
"Well, let's see. Witches are people who do magic. Spells, potions, that kind of thing. Banshees are a type of supernatural creature bonded to a family that screams when someone in the family is about to die. A sort of warning thing. They come from Ireland originally, I think. Dryads are a kind of nature spirit who live in trees and can control nature. Necromancers are witches who specialize in raising the dead and all that, balancing life and death, that kind of thing."

"Tell me more about your world? If you'd like."
