[open] i ain't got time here to waste
Who: Beau and YOU, perhaps??
When: Arrival to before the September event
Where: Various locations; Bonnie's, the library, Salt Island
Summary: Beau shows up and immediately wants to know where everything is, what everyone's doing, and how everything fits together. It's a lot to take on, but that's never stopped her before. Hit me up at
cancerously if you want a particular starter or something not listed here. My default is brackets but I'll match whatever you tag in with!
Warnings: Nothing in particular though knowing Beau there's likely to be mentions of violence.
i. [bonnie's] swing and a punch / fist to the front
[Alright, so being taken into a new universe wasn't exactly what her plan was for the future after killing an entire city, but if Beau's good at anything it's rolling with the punches. She took one look at ADI's posted house rules and left pretty much immediately, leading her to Bonnie's with little preamble. It's kind of unsettling to not have an in with the large investigative organization, but hey, she can play nice without being stared at all the time.
That said, she doesn't actually have... much of an idea of what to do here without the rest of her team. So anyone living at Bonnie's will get to simply see a girl appear seemingly out of nowhere, looking kind of fancy for just standing around, with at least her jacket off and sticking out like a sore thumb as a probable new arrival. She's conspicuously poking around the living area, using what appears to be a big wooden stick to poke at things.
Maybe you should say something. Or maybe she'll beat you with it. Who knows until you try!]
ii. [ADI's library] it's my trophy, my battle, my ring
[When Beau heard ADI had a library, she was thinking it might actually have resources on the things they're researching. Instead, it's machines she doesn't know how to use and a truly dumb amount of books, which usually makes her think there's a lot of them and this time it's the opposite. To that end, she can be found at a table with a number of books strewn out around her, a pencil in her hand, and her face resting smack on the wood. If you get closer, you might actually hear her grumbling to herself.]
This is stupid, these aren't resources, what the fuck do they expect me to do with this?
iii. [salt island] dig deep while we go for the glory
[While Beau has been to the beach thanks to the Nein, she's never actually lived long-term near one, and the thought of being able to go anytime she wants feels... nice, actually. Her cover is absolutely going to look after whatever sea monster is supposed to be in the water, but anyone who finds her there will see her simply standing out on Salt Island at low tide, staring out into the water. It's... calm. Nice. Or it would be if she wasn't so observant and absolutely knew someone was there, even if she doesn't know who. To that end, she's going to choose to take the badass route and not turn around as she speaks out to sea, because she knows it looks rad as hell.]
You need something, or what?
[As she stands, the top of a green tattoo can be seen over her shirt collar, the edge of an eye seeming to look right back at whoever approaches.]

wildcard; for shiroe
Is Cad around?
no subject
He just left--late night counseling call, I believe. But you're welcome to come in and wait for him?
no subject
Ugh. Figures.
[Beau surveys the room and walks over to the bed she recognizes belongs to Caduceus, sitting down on the edge.]
'Course as soon as he gets here he picks up a new handful of misfit projects.
no subject
[Shiroe's defensive of his fellow ADI staff, so sue him. But he's very clearly not reaching for his staff or any other signs of 'trying shit'.]
i love when dw just eats a tag notif and i find it a month later, thanks,
That's not the kind of shit he takes on anyway. Cad is more into the types that are lost and in need of some plant religion or hope in themselves or whatever. Trust me. He's got a type.
[That type is... well, her, really, but she's not going to say that part.]
Gonna be happening to them a lot, though. Not gonna be a lot of choices past 'get used to it' pretty soon.
iii.
I'm surprised you noticed me. Very perceptive, almost like you have eyes in the back of your head.
[She'll approach closer, the salt water brushing up against the hem of her long skirt.] What are you hoping to see?
no subject
It can't look back. If you're worried. 'Ss just ink.
[The other girl comes up to stand beside her and Beau turns her attention back to the ocean.]
Dunno if I'm expecting anything. Haven't seen the water in a while is all.
[It's a refreshing change of pace, coming from a planet made of pure flesh right into a firefight.]
no subject
It's certainly very blue. Or green. Supposedly, there's a gargantuan snake creature lurking around in it.
no subject
[Not magic that literally lets her see through it, just the representation of the all-seeing eye that knows all
fearpower. You know! Not ominous! At all!!!]Kinda thought it was weird people were talking about it. I thought like, all oceans had something like that. Guess you can't really see it in this one.
no subject
The only types of mages they've got are basically warlocks. [She crunches up her nose at that. It's the wizard superiority, fuck you Fjord.]

i!
Today he's brought home a potted sunflower, which might be a little ambitious, but it's pretty and he's gonna do his best not to kill it. He's set it down on a coffee table to get, like, acclimated to the whole vibe of the place while he goes to the kitchen to fetch it some water.
(And maybe he gets sidetracked and distracted along the way, by this and that. You know how it goes.)
When he comes back, there's a chick poking at his plant with a stick. ]
It's not gonna bite.
no subject
Her attention snaps up to him when he addresses her though, pulling back her stick only slightly.]
It's a fuckin' plant, of course it won't. I'm not stupid.
[You sure Beau because it seems awfully paranoid to have a fucking, I dunno, weapon technically drawn on a flower.]
no subject
What's with the big stick?
no subject
[She does remove her staff from seeming to hold it at prime position, standing it up next to her like a walking stick.]
And it's a staff. It's for hitting shit I can't hit with my hands.
[Or something she doesn't want to hit with her hands, sometimes.]
no subject
Heeeey, little guy. I brought a snack.
[ Then, to the mystery lady, who could definitely kick his ass: ]
See anything worth hitting here?

[The agreement (if that's what it is) comes from one of the top shelves where a black cat has been napping until now. He yawns in that toothy, wide-mouthed way of cats, not bothering to get up.]
no subject
Oh, great. Now Frumpkin is gonna preach to me.
[She keeps her eyes focused towards him though, trying to figure out what kind of magic- or like, assumes it's magic- that she's dealing with.]
Don't tell me you're some kind of hidden archivist or something. Or, fuck it, do tell me that because it'd be more helpful than any of these have been.
no subject
[Somehow he continues to find himself eternally surprised by the things he gets called. As for magic...well, he's a talking cat. That clearly shouldn't be possible. But he's not an illusion or a trick.
He gives a very human little shake of his head.]
Just a--what did they decide to call me? A pest control specialist sleeping on the job. I like to keep an eye on what people are looking into, but it's usually...well, sort of boring.
no subject
[She shrugs as if to finish that sentence. Frumpkin also couldn't talk, but like, fuck it. It would put her at ease if he was, though. Ah well.]
So you came from somewhere else like the rest of us? Or does this plane have talking cats along with the deadly fear creatures.
no subject
My name is Thackery.

[Jon is well versed in research after all, and he doesn't mind helping people if they're struggling. Well, not anymore. Martin might have words to say about that.]
no subject
Just-- fuckin' anything, I guess. These people told us all this stuff about these-- fear demons or whatever but there's no sources. And when I ask they tell me to look it up, but there's nothing here.
[She pointedly is not referencing the computers as she gestures towards the bookshelf.]
no subject
[Demons implies a more Christian religious bent, and something bigger than them in charge. Rather than... well, what they are.]
It's tricky. Most books aren't going to outright mention them because most people don't know they exist. But you can find patterns if you look in the right places.
no subject
I get it's not a common knowledge thing, but-- this place is supposed to be this huge organization, right? They haven't written anything? Researched anything? And if we're working for them how are we supposed to do that if they won't even tell us half the shit that's out there??
[Look Jon, she's very you, but with a six pack and no qualms about curse words.]
no subject
But most of the files are on the computers. You should be able to access documents through there.
