He'd offer for Winter to go first, but just as he's raising his arm to make a bit of an after you motion, he realizes that if he goes first, it gives Winter more control over the situation - because Winter can decide how close or far to sit. So, Rogers precedes him into the living room and takes up residence on one end of the couch, leaning against the arm and not exactly trying not to take up space, but trying to make it clear that he won't move closer or crowd Winter, wherever he chooses to sit.
